Im really going, so is gabe! We just got the Fuel lab FPR in, and got the electronic boost controller all wired up! Good to go, ready for 40psi, this is going to be insane!!! Hope you come! We are heading down at 8:00 in the morning Saturday.

Awesome man, see you there! We are leaving at 8:00, wont be there till around 10:00. Racing starts at 11:00, so be there by then or you might miss my run, cause after my first run, doubt they will let me run again!

Wow, that's some impressive times! What part of the rear axle broke? I know DSS has larger shafts but I don't know if there's much you can do if you're grinding up the cups. Good luck with the 9 second run! Do you have a roll bar vs a cage? I know the roll bar is good enough for 11.49-10.00 second runs and you need the full on, inspect every 3 years cage for 9.99 or faster along with a 'chute if you trap 135mph or better. Fingers crossed they don't remember you so you get at least one good pass in, just don't make it too obvious that you're letting off, there may be specific e.t. speeds for the 1/8th they go by too...
 
Never mind guys, the driveshaft yoke is twisted and is junk! So will not be going tomorrow! Talked to Shep, and DSS today, and it looks like I will be getting a Shep Tcase, and a new driveshaft from DSS This winter! That makes the car done for the year! But next year is going to be insane, I just picked up a fully built 2g head with 1mm over sized SS valves, 5 angle valve job, oringed, etc!!! Also have a sweet set of Magnus head studs, and will be picking up a JMF drag manifold, a nice set of Kelford cams (288/280)!! Can't wait for next year!

Speaking of safe LOL are you planning on putting a cage in the car over the winter??? just wondering since I didnt see it in the new mod list

Yeah, also a cage, 8 or 10 point, haven't decided yet. I will not race again untill the car is safe!
 
ok, i cant stand it, might be going to the track on the 27th, with the talon. i want a 9 so bad!
 
well i took it back to the track and lifted the head on the second pass..... first pass was a 11.4@ 131 with a 2.0 60ft second pass had a 2.2 60ft lifted the head in high third and ran a 11.8@ 129 so i have the head almost off gonna try to fix it today maybe have it running for the 27th so i can try again LOL
 
Are you planning on doing the cage yourself or having someone do it? My friend and I who are building our hx-40 powered car did our cage. We kind of used our own design because a lot of DSM's have really dumb and poor fitting cages. Check out my blog if you want to see some pics of it.

Which camera were you filming with? looks nice

Oh and how is he (4g63awdhonda) running his downpipe/o2 housing (custom?) since I thought the HY35s don't have the BEP bolt on housing available to them.

Have no clue what camera it was, my friend videoed it for me!
As for Gabes setup, its just cut off under the oil pan, and all custom.
I will tell him to post up some pics when he gets the car put back together. Pics of Gabes turbo, and setup is on page one, you can see a little bit of the o2/down pipe!

From there, he fabbed his own o2 housing. I understand he was running an open downpipe which ended about 18" from the turbo when he ran the 11.14.

Went to the track this past Saturday, and did a few 3rd gear pulls to fine tune the car. Got the car all tuned up (37psi) and lowered the tire pressure to 12psi in the back and 14psi in the front! Got up to the line launched very hard launch (never felt one like it) and broke another damn rear axle, but this one shatterd like glass inside the diff! I think if it wouldn't have broke, it would of ran a 9 with no problem! One of my tuning passes I rolled to the 1/8th mile at 61mph, and ripped on it through third and fourth and trapped 125.26 mph in the 1/4!!!
The car was hauling ass after the 1/8th..

Ford 8.8 swap? Maybe you should think about it.
 
Because he's now broken a pair of stock, 17-year-old axles with 140k on them?

There are plenty of other options.

Sure, Easy to do. Lets look at some pros and Cons.
Pros-
-Explorer 8.8's are the same width as a 4 bolt.
- nice flat contact patch at launch
-Most if not all are 3.55.( 3.31 ratio is availible, should he go Auto one day)
- 31 spline
- LSD
- Rear discs
-PLENTY strong at his level
-Cheap, $150 hub to hub at yards here.
So, add in a $250 Ladder bar kit from Summit or Jegs and a Panhard Bar.
$400 and all rear axle problems are solved.:D

No. AWD all the way! Just ditching the Independant 4 bolt for a straight axle.

I'm actually will be doing a 8.8 solid rear diff, in the near future! I want to be able to launch like a maniac without the worries of breaking a axle, or rear diff!
The price of DSS level 5 axles are insane ($1850) and then you still have the weak rear diff! So I would rather put that money torwards a solid rear diff, and be done with it!
I will absolutely never go to a auto, sorry not my thing!
