Honestly, this thread is just getting upsetting. I took mine to the track the other night on a 62MM hx40 at 30 psi (nowhere near tuned yet, was actually there to test and tune for once) and I was only trapping 125. What be your secret Dave!?!

His car is 1000lbs ligher than yours, and every piece of your setup is holding you back.

Just some updates- a new engine went in just before the Shootout....literally started the first time when the car went on the trailer to go to Ohio. We're still in break-in stage as we want the motor to last, so the boost is at 18psi for now.

Last night the car went four more trips down the track with a best E.T. of 10.50 and a best trap speed of 133.9....and the turbo's not even breaking a sweat. You can barely even hear it when he takes off. :D

In addition, this was done with a 1.7 60ft as Dave wasn't trying to break driveline parts while breaking the engine in. Had he cut a 1.5 60ft, this would've been an easy 10.30 pass on just 18psi. :applause:

Looking for big things from the new engine later this season and beyond. ;)

Justin /dave could you post a slip from this. Id like to see all the numbers to compare to other non dog box cars. Thanks.

Also, how are you launching the car. It seems like you can slip the clutch well out of the hole. My QM was nothing like that, but I was on street tires.

I just slip it a little with a staging brake, and try to work the clutch pedal as smooth as possible! launch is set at 6k.

It saddens me i had to be on 35psi to get the same trap you got with only being on 18psi on the same damn turbo, one thats beat to shit none the less. A d i didn't even get a 10 fml LOL

you have to think, im shifting my trans just as fast as an auto, thats why I run good times with low traps. If I could get the 60fts as a auto I would have 10.2- 10.3 ets @ 130 mph. I can run 10s on accident LOL

Dave, how long does the shift take? Do have an rpm log at a high sample rate? One from link might be high enough.

I used a lab data logger to log my passes last time I was at the track, my 1-2 is .55s, 2-3 is .45, and 3-4 is .50 This is on a back up trans with all single fiber synchro's and some "custom WSS" tricks LOL, 2600 4 puck, shifting at 9000 (need to go higher)

I look at the time between peak RPM and when it starts rising again. Probably could log the clutch switch too, as I use the top one.

I have no clue man, I dont use the clutch at all. its pretty much instantly into another gear.
Heres a 1-2 shift then missing 3rd.

Good luck dave! I hope to make it soon also for some 38psi madness on new suspension and cams.

thanks, and good luck to you also... ill update what happens Saturday!

Another crappy outing! first pass @30psi car went 9.82 @144 with a crap 1.6 60ft. After that we cranked the boost up a little, and just at that time , they announce that they will be switching to 1/8th mile do to high winds! welp, f that I loaded up and went home! Its a 1/4 mile car not 1/8th:banghead:

That is really impressive! Can't wait to have my car back on the road. Eventually I'll be running the hx40 Pro when the time comes. I'm even more dazzled that you kept the stock 1gb Talon body kit on. That thing weighs a ton compared to the other body kits of the 1g's. The only thing that is less in weight is the spoiler compared to the eclipse 1g ones LOL
