Any logs on the run?? I want to see how bad the batmowheel kicks my 7 blades a$$.

I do, but have to ask my tuner first, and I cant get ahold of him tonite.

Congrats, what are the specs on your batmowheel?

EDIT, i must have missed it in the first post. good stuff.

The specs are the same but as you can see in the pic below, its design is better.:rocks:

Funny that Spark Tech should comment on this thread- Dave was noting on the last pass that the car was starting to break up a good bit....seems the stock igniton with plugs gapped a .018" just aren't cutting it for 650-700whp. Your name came up in a conversation while loading the car on the trailer. ;)

LOL

Congrats on the new best.

Would have been more interesting to see it with the old trans everyone pics up mph with the dog box swap alone.

Although I haven't seen the logs yet ...I'm sort of feeling the same thing..

A non-cracked intercooler, 30 degree cooler ambient temps, and a PPG Dog box plus a new compressor wheel between 1 track event and another is ALOT to change all at once..

I'm not sayin the Bat-mo-wheel is no better...but im not convinced its much better at its current boost...He was completely out of fuel at the shootout at ~97-98 IDC ... now the intake temps are a good 30 degrees cooler boost is at the same configuration and IDC's only went up to 99% .. that means its not actually flowing much more air because fuel demand would have came up with that and IDC"s would have reflected the demand and the car would have leaned out ..

From what I'm gathering from conversation w/ Dave and the little information I know about this situation In my mind the batmowheel is flowing similar to the 6 blade pro at the same boost levels.

and the MPH came from the cool air and different transmission.... However I'm excited to see what the Batmowheel does at higher boost levels because the 6 blade compressor wheel was definitely becoming maxxed out before.... This being said ... I still think its impressive as hell..and with that same logic I think his plain jane HX40 would have performed very similarly if it were given the chance... I'm excited to see the logs though...I have no input on spool up, power band or anything else that the different compressor wheel would effect as well.... and maybe some back to back results if we can make that happen sometime..

For now though I think it'd be good to leave the car alone for a little bit and focus on relearning how to drive it..its obviously makin REDICULOUS power ...it should be running 9.50s at that mph... It seems though everytime he takes it to the track he's changed something drastic... I remember him cuttin 1.7's all day everyday on street tires.. hell he won B1 at 2009 Shootout so it was obviously consistent.... ..and last year was all 1.6's and some 1.5's...this year the 60 foot times are all across the board as is e.t. nothing is consistent anymore.. and w/ all the changes that have been made this car is not the same car it was even 1 month ago and its goin to take some practice to figure out how to get it consistent again..

But anyways Congrats again Dave... I thought 145 was satisfactory .... 150mph is wayyyy more than we dreamed of last winter when we were deciding what mods to do next... .... Although so was the PPG DogBox, and an upgraded turbo LOL.

You have to admit Ricky, the ppg dogbox was a steal, definitely something I couldnt pass up!

But yeah I agree, my launching abilities have went down hill.... I'm gonna work on getting beter 60fts from now on, and not worry about getting that 9s pass, but when I do get a good 60ft, I wont be letting off...:sneaky:

I Think a steal is an understatement LOL ...i'm glad you got it though means you'll have much more $$$ available this winter for other cool things ..Maybe some Coil overs, or another motor, but probably most importantly is your safety equipment and parachute mount ;-)

I'm glad I could play a small, SMALL part in this car's kicking some ass. You MUST make it to the World Cup Finals next month! Jason preps that track as if Top Fuel is about to make a pass, each and every round!

Planning on a GREAT track day this coming Sunday- high of 79*, low humidity, sunny with a 0% chance of rain. The 9's pass is going to happen, but now the question is just how far into the 9's will he go? Some predicted 9.87 in an earlier thread, but the car's now trapping 150+....so it could be a 9.5!

Dave- charge up all necessary recording equipment and your laptop before leaving, please!

Cars loaded up, got extra axles, and a spare tcase loaded up.... Charging cams as we speak, laptops already charged, will check it again tomorrow night.... My launch rpms are already turned up to 6500 without antilag, should be a beast launch if it dont break, but I think it might not be too bad with the taller first gear!

I am freakin ready, can't wait...its all or nothing!!!..LOL

Good luck at the track today!!

Holsets arn't proven.

:p

First off congrats on the 150+ trap speed! 2nd (not to be a downer), but Bricktop hit the nail on the head. Seeing as Dave's Holset, isn't a total Holset anymore, his times from now on out with this setup doesn't prove anything other then the HX40 with the Batmowheel is capable of. Don't get your panties in a bunch, we all know that a FP 68hta isn't a "real" 16g, and Daves turbo should be considered no different. Like I said congrats on the improvements, but don't start boasting about 9 second HX40 claims from this...

Don't be an asshat. We'll put the 6-blade HX40 back on and go faster if you want us to.

A 68HTA is basically a 20G compressor by spec, not a 16G....the Bullseye HX40 compressor is the identical spec to the factory wheel it replaced. Your argument is invalid- if a previous GT3582 user switches to a GTX3582, is he no longer running a 35R?

Swapping to a compressor wheel of identical spec doesn't mean it's a completely different turbo. The turbo itself is less a Holset because we're using a Bullseye turbine housing than swapping compressor wheels.

Well I am on a stock HX40 7 blade and I am not upgrading to the BM Wheel until I hit 9s on the stock compressor wheel. With the cost of my HX40 (200 bucks) and retail on the wheel of 400 dollar. Having a reliable 9 sec turbo for 600 bucks is a hell of a deal.

Also is the 6 blade hx40 wheel a billet upgrade? I have heard mixed stories about the 6 blade 60mm as being only offered as an aftermarket wheel.
