TalonDave + BatMoWheel HX40 = 151.11mph

I've been looking at the "trap speeds vs. turbos used" for the last little bit on both this site's registered timeslip info and those registered on DSMTimes.org, and of the turbos listed which aren't described as "secret" or by brand name alone I honestly don't see where anyone has gone 151mph with a 60mm turbo. In fact there are plenty of T4-footprint turbo users who have trapped slower but have quicker ET's (at this moment).

Off-the-shelf 35R's have a 61mm inducer....close, but still larger. Obviously we can't account for those who are unregistered, but is it possible that Dave could be the only smaller-than-61mm compressor user to trap 151mph? :sneaky:

Very nice MPH Dave. Looks like the new setup is working well for you.

I believed there was 59mm compressor trapped over 151mph.

Hey, I can't help track prep, plus evertime I go to the track something is different on my car! The new clutch was definitely something to get use to!
I am not proud of my 60fts this year, I suck!!!..LOL
I have no clue when the car will make it the track again, but we will see.

I will have videos up tomorrow, no incar vids, I forgot to charge the incar cam.
Thanks to everyone that has supported me!

Have you considered one of these to help with the launch?

Holey cow batman!!!! OMG That is amazing.

I have been following the threads on this little beauty, but I was not expecting to see such an increase in airflow. It sucks that you ran out of injector :hmm: but we all know you will have some new ones soon. These are astounding numbers on a untunned not traction car. Props to all the pioneering you have been doing and I look forward to another outing this year.

Wow. What is the projected lbs/minute on the batmowheel? I was under the impression that the hx40 was rated at 60lbs per minute which is the same as my red. But at that flow rate it might be a nice upgrade.
The HX35 compressor is rated at 60 lb/min, but you're not going to see airflow like that with a DSM bolt-on turbine housing like your Red. Too much turbine restriction.

The HX40 is definitely a 70 lb/min compressor in stock form....we've seen a couple logs in the past with peaks of 70.2 or so with the old cast 6-blade compressor- but it was happily logging around 67-68 on a regular basis. Now consistently logging over 70 and achieving a peak of 73.4 with no changes being made aside from the compressor wheel is f-in stoopid....puts the BatMoWheel upgrade right at an addional 40-50hp, which is exactly what the diesel users claimed when testing the BW versions.

Of course we plan to run this turbo all of next year to get an idea of what it's truly capable of. I think we'll see 75-76 lb/min logs happening easily with a better intercooler, more fuel, and a tune. :thumb:

Hx35 users would love to get the most out of their turbos without having to go larger hx40's. There are plenty of hx35 users out there, and a strong market. I am sure they will make one for hx35 in the future. Not everyone wants to stick a big turbo and drag race with them.

good results for the batmo wheel and a nice mph :)

....but a HX35 turbine housing / wheel is already at it's flow potential with the existing cast compressor. If you more compressor just upgrade to a HX40 wheel and you'll soon find out you made a mistake because the HX35 turbine simply can't flow any more.

The HX35 has already gone 10.7 and trapped high 130's with a rotating assembly that is basically the same size as a Garrett T04E50....what more do you want out of a 54mm compressor?

Here's the video, man I need a new cam, this one sucks! First run had a 1.61 60ft but my hand slipped off the shifter, and neted a miss shift into third gear!

Thermometer at the Chiropractor just two doors up from me said 52* when I turned into my driveway after leaving the track. Air temps at the Shootout when the 10.02 was run were much, much warmer. Car's always faster at the end of the season regardless with the cooler temps- last year at this time he ran the 10.14 @ 138, so he's effectively 13mph faster at the end of a run a year later.

One good launch, and the car will be in the 9s forsure! Another thing thats a little different, is the gear ratios in the dogbox....first gear goes 53mph at 9000rpms. I need to go out on the street and practice launching!

Forgot about that completely- the 151 run illustrates that pretty well. Instead of shifting at the 60ft line you're about 150ft down the track when you grab second.

What RPM are you crossing the traps at?

Congrats on the new best.

Would have been more interesting to see it with the old trans everyone pics up mph with the dog box swap alone.

Im at 7800 at the traps!

Thanks, well in that case maybe the new bullseye wheel didn't do anything for my setup! Justin I guess bring my old 40 up with you when you come, and well swap back to it for the next trip to the track...

Congrats, what are the specs on your batmowheel?

EDIT, i must have missed it in the first post. good stuff.
