No, but you could unplug the OBD port connection and re-connect it to be sure it is able to talk to the ECU. I have had some issues like this too and I did a reboot and tried all of the COM ports, finally, it was able to communicate. I now do try...

On your laptop, - "Windows", "Shut Down".
Let it sit for 5 minutes and power it back on and boot up. Try the ECMLink connection then see if it will connect.
It’s honestly very easy, and to be honest at least for me personally, one of my most favorite things to do ever. Especially on an OEM style rebuild. And it’s rewarding. When it runs and it kicks a** for another 200,000 miles you can puff your...
These motors are NOT hard to assemble correctly. If you can do one, you should be able to do them all. Just sayin. I'm an old V8 guy but they are all just correct tolerances with correct parts. I can build them all, surely an "experienced" shop...
This! Even using 1g pistons, I hateThats typical on the pistons, many machinist’s like to bore to the size using the pistons that will be used. However, the rest of it tells they have no hands on with 4g63’s. I’d pay for any work they’ve...
Don’t spend any money on octane booster, just add more premium fuel instead. I would think it would idle fine on 87 so you may have another issue there.
That is what I would do. If you feel uncomfortable then just take it to the gas station and put better octane fuel in it. I would drive mine with 87 in it, just not drive it hard, like a Sunday drive.
Yep it will be ok. Don't try any hard driving, just drive it. Take a little road trip to get a little more 87 out of it. Cruising won't hurt it then go get your favorite blend and add it to the tank.
You are fine. Drive the car. If it see's knock from the 87, the sensor will pull timing and you will be ok (but don't do it again or you have to take a timeout) LOL
