Talondave: Batmowheel Hx40 goes 9s!!!

I'd even consider getting a .82 T3 housing machined to accept the HX40 turbine if we reach a point where either turbo hits an airflow wall.

I thought about contacting Bill about maybe prototyping me a .82 t3 housing!

Yes the race weight is 2960lbs.. Thats what the scale said at my local land fill.

I doubt Bullseye will want to re-cast a new housing which isn't much bigger, but you never know. I could snag a 6262 housing from PTE; it actually has a slightly smaller turbine wheel so it would be machinable to fit the HX40.

Maybe thats something we should look into next year, once we max out both the Hx40 pro, and Batmo40!!! I'm up for it next year!!

New Goal already set for next year!!! 8s with a Batmo40, or Hx40 pro!

Congrats on hitting your goal! It is a good feeling. Man, I need to save up for a PPG box.

BTW, how is the TCE brakes holding at the start line and stopping from 150mph? I went ahead and ordered some Hawk pads with DR-97 compound for better holding/braking.

Braking is amazing, I'm not pushing on the brakes very hard at all, their nice and smooth! Not sure what you mean by holding at the starting line, as I'm not useing my brakes at the starting line, just my E-brake to preload the drive-train!
And I also only have the front TCE kit!

Ah ok, I thought you're running TCE front and rear. Glad to hear it is working well for you. I can't wait to test it on my car.

Congrats! I'm sure you're not far off from your future goals. Maybe mix in a 1.4-1.5 60ft and you should be good!

I agree with others though saying this car is far from a "budget" build anymore. Does it really matter? No. It is still a great setup and putting up great numbers for DSMs and holset users.

This has already been discussed in a previous thread. ;)

I will agree that the budget is starting to rise drastically with the additions of a dog box and the other things like the batmowheel, new FMIC core and such that are slowly sneaking their way into the car (donated or not, for others to do the same they are going to have to shell out the cash). Sadly it's now becoming a standard build 10 second car, but i'm still inspired by the fact that the shortblock is still just the standard wiseco/eagle combo, which makes me feel good about pushing my same shortblock harder and harder.

DAVE is the one on the budget, not the car. He's never really cheaped out on anything that went into this car- he's just proving that with enough determination anyone can get to his goal no matter what their budget may be. He's worked three jobs at once in the past just to fund his car- there are no excuses!

Congrats!

And is it just me, or were you spinning a little in second gear? The in-car view looked like the back end was going out a little.

I can't believe he went 9.6 with that awful launch (no offense). This car is making some awesome power, well done.

The 11.5 dial in made me chuckle.

Is it just me or does the first gear on the dogbox seem a lot longer than our stock synchro trans? And congrats, the car sounds like a monster!

The 11.5 dial in is because the car doesn't have a rollbar in it, which you're required to have if you go 11.49 or quicker. Obviously, Dave falls in the "or quicker" category. Congratulations on kicking ass to end your season. I already hear your wheels turning on what you're going to do to make the car faster/safer for 2012 season!

Congrats man!!! Hopefully we will have 2 HX40s in the 9s this year. Next test and tune for me is Saturday. Hopefully my drive train will handle it.

It's just funny that they allow you to run whatever you want as long as you dial 11.5 or slower. At my home track more than one pass below 11.5 and you're asked to leave.
