Any photos of this?

Yes. Thank you. I just could not think of that word.

I don't know if you mean the surge tank or my setup but this is the surge tank setup

This is the way I want to mount it

Well I have a 7blade, do you know what his times were?

11.60@121MPH

1000cc injectors on a 255HP fuel pump controlled by an Aeromotive AFPR and DSMLink. The boost was at 27psi.

Was that on a built block, whatd you use for fuel, and what were you running in boost?

Well I have some new pics for you guys, of the work that I just had done to my Holset:

Yep, that is a H1E (HX40) in a FP30 series turbine housing! It is not a direct fit, it had to be machined to fit. And an adapter ring had to be used, you can see it in the last picture. I just took it out of the box, but I don't have much time to look at it since I am on my way out the door. I'll have some better pics later, and more after I get a new wastegate flange put on (HKS GTII :sneaky:) and have it ceramic coated.:thumb:

Beautifull, I like it. I love FP turbine housings. That was my original idea, but I called FP so many times about that and they weren't going to do it for me and I don't have acsess nor undestand the machining process... Good luck and post some results, when you are ready, not even dyno, but some flow #'s and spool up- full boost RPM's.

Is that h1e an 8blade? Was it originally a Wh1e? Some h1e turbos apparently have larger turbine wheels than the hx40. Does this have the same spec turbine wheel as the hx40? My wh1e does. That looks new. Did you get it from gold farb like I did? Lots of questions :) .

Yep, it is an original 8 bladed H1E that I purchased new from Goldfarb. And I'm honestly not 100% sure if it has a bigger turbine wheel than the HX40 or not, I'll have to measure it out sometime.

Thanks guys, I'll get some more pics with the cover on and it back together after it has been coated, it will look even better:thumb:

Hey Projectsi, are there any other people in our area of WI running Holset's, and if so are they on widsm? Because right now the only one I know of is you, and I am planning on puttting one on my next car.

DSM-onster.... Do you think that turbine housing from FP, which measures 0.68 AR is almost as same as the BEP 0.70AR ??? At first look the BEP looks biger, but I am talking in terms of flow and spool time.

What do you think ??? Thanks,Andy.

The .70 is def bigger but they will flow about the same. That Fp30 housing is bad ass piece. Between the wastegate design and the volute design it will outflow smaller t3 housings even though it's tech a bolt on housing.

There was some one on the Volvo forums that machined a garret housing to fit a H1e, i dont remeber to clearly but he had said he machined 2mm off inside the housing and some were else on the housing, I have a H1e and a PTE housing that i feel like trying this on

And an adapter ring had to be used, you can see it in the last picture.:

Why didn't you just use the FP housing with the thicker CHRA mounting area that they have available for non-GTBB CHRAs?

You know you don't have any proof at all what so ever of that.:)

The BEP bolton housing is relatively close in flow area (smaller but how much bigger is the .70 a/r BEP housing ?:) ) and has the same design (on center volute with good angles to the turbine blades).

I couldn't find one for sale, and I didn't want to spend $400 on a brand new one. I picked this one up used for $150.

And the inside of the housing had to be machined because the H1E wheel is bigger than the GT35r wheel that the housing was made for.

You can see from the pictures the volute size of the FP30 is much bigger by design and flow is proven beyond a doubt even though I'm not a huge fp guy. Taking into account how big a fp3065 is and a hx40 with .70ar housing knowing what we know about everything so far it's a educated assumption given flow charts and real world results(mor so from the FP30 turbo's than the .70ar bep housing)

That and the fast I have seen both in person and size and volute are about the same was the other reason I said they would flow about the same even though size does not always tell the story of flow and velocity. :D

God that looks nice. I'm going to have to look into doing this. I was about to grab up a exhaust housing today, but I might hold off to see more of this FP/Holset hybrid.

Can you bost pics of the machiening done inside please!!!

So for the people running an HX-40 with external wastegate off the o2 housing.....Are you having to port the BEP .55ar bolt on exhaust housing at all. I got mine in and it looks like the wastegate passage is rather small...

My setup is:

FP race manifold
BEP bolt-on Turbine housing
HX-40
Tial 38mm wastegate
Punishment racing recirculated Tial 38 o2 housing

Any thoughts......
