NLTS is really good stuff! I absolutely love it! Good luck with the run! in for the resultsAs dsm-onster stated my car is up and running fairly well. I am still on the bolt-on .55 a/r bep housing with a 6 blade hx40. I know I would net more power with a t3 but I want to see what it will do for a bolt-on turbo application. Not trying to bench race but judging by the way it hooks now, pulls harder up top and now with NLTS if I can get a decent 60' and a clean run a mid to low 10 second is easily achievable. Hopeufully we will see this weekend!
Is it the 7blade hx35? Good luck on the dyno pulls! My HX35 car is getting dyno'd tomorrow. Stay tuned for results.
We're actually thinking we can make a HX35 run a high 10 at this point, and it may happen after the Shootout. We know where the HX35 that Dave used last year is, and it would literally be a direct swap to put the 35 back on the car....about a half hour's worth of work.
A HX35 at 33-34psi should make as much airflow as a HX40 at 27-28psi, but of course you're limited to the amount of total airflow you can make with the HX35.
I see a HX35 running a 10 by the end of the year.
so you went through the trouble of installing a Holset on a dsm and you didn't even research it's potential?I really don't think hx35s can make around 500 to the wheels. What do you guys think?

Not trying to bench race either, but I've been around Kenny and his car throughout its progression and it definitely has a mid-low 10 in it. Whether it gets that pass is yet to be seen. 134.6mph trap on street tires last year, SMIM and kelfords this year with a fresh head=![]()
^The car feels very good. Just need to ride the fine line between where it blows out the spark and where it puts a smile on your face. Hopefully the problem with either the wastegate or MBC becoming inconsistent from heatsoak/sitting in the staging lanes is fixed now.
I know that hx35's have 10's in them with a healthy set up and good fuel. Not every single one on every setup, but they no doubt have it in them. We'll see
Justin this is the whole reason i selected this turbo. With a final goal of hitting a high ten, i choose to go with a 7 blade HX35. I'm confident, once i build my block enough to support more than the 26pounds i'm running and switch over to a T3 turbine housing, my car will hit a high ten on this turbo. As it is now in the bolt on .55 a/r housing at a low 26psi, i pulled an 11.75@120 last Friday and my compression test reads 100-110 across the board.
There is absolutely NO need to build a motor to run over 26psi on a HX35.

I did do research, actually for quite sometime before I bought my Holset. I just haven't read of anyone putting down ~500 on an 8blade hx35 in a bolt-on housing.so you went through the trouble of installing a Holset on a dsm and you didn't even research it's potential?
Doesitonall4s. I would love to get in touch with you about your car. It seems weird to me how your injectors seem to be so small compared to others unless the meth really makes that much of a difference. Want to come to Mount Pocono and set my car up? Lol. I'm hoping to have my car tuned decent and painted before the shootout. I. Just running out of time and 7 hours is alot to put my car through without any local testing

So.... nobody knows where to find one of these?
So what are you saying? That the stock motor will hold up fine to the abuse? Or that he should just step up to a HX-40?

Been having a weird hesitation issue when I go WOT. I even turned the boost down and it still does it. No knock. Almost seems like fuel cut/spark issue. I'm going to replace the plugs this weekend to see if that helps.
I also need an opinion. I am running a 3" high flow cat. How much do you thing having the cat in there effects the spool time? Should I remove it?

Mount Pocono is far from me. Dude 780s are pretty nice I have been able to run 22psi with no meth before they were maxed out. However meth does make a really big difference, I also have been thinking about rewiring my fuel pump since mine is still not rewired. BTW I have been daily driving my car for 2 years now with this set up and I absolutely love it. I hope to try to dial in my GVR-4 with the HX40 soon but I think I will use 1000CC and just straight pump gas.
What kind of maf are you running out of curiosity? I guess my 850's will be enough afterall to push the 8 blade 35 to 25psi. And once the meth is on i'll be able to go farther. I just feel its not enough fuel. I guess i'll find out. I know cherry hill isn't a walk around the block but I would definately like some insight from you. Your set up is very close to mine. How far are you from e-town? when they have the subie vs mitsu day later on this year I plan on being there so maybe we could meet up.
As a matter of fact there seems to be alot of us in the general tri state area so just how many of us plan on making it to e-town? I dont know if ohio is in the cards for me this year. The deadline to get the car painted and tuned is coming way to quick.
I know you weren't talking to me, but I run the stock 2g maf with 850's seeing around 78% IDC at 28psi. That's without meth. I plan on attending the e-town meet again this year.
