ROFL. . . Not only that, get chided because 102 cookie cutter shop cars backed by capital to sell products bought wholesale did it at 3psi lower boost and higher compression.

so do anyone make DP and o2 housings for holsets yet? my 20g just took a dump and i almost bought a 35 that needed a rebuild but i fingured it would take longer then i wanted to fab up a 02 housing and mod my inntercooler pipes when i really just want to get her back on the road

If the pro had a rca cover I would hunt one down but with my billet HX52 I think that 800whp on boost is possible and I'm not afraid of the bottle if I want more later.

Gotta love it. I wish I would've kept my HX40 setup, but I was in a financial bind and needed money for tuition.

Hurry up. I'm waiting on you to get some numbers before I make a turbo purchase. I'm stuck between topmount and bottom mount right now. I'd really like to retain the stock exit exhaust. Either way I want to see what you do before I buy one. LOL

It's hard time wise because I"m not cutting any corners. I mean it's not far parts wise but money wise it is LOL. I"m trying to prove it can be done without any sponsors too so that doesn't help. Right now my AFCO radiator is getting 16an fittings welded on it and I have a bunch of lines on the way I found a company on ebay that sells proclassic lines for a crazy price.

Trust me I know. Try being in college. ;)

I am looking for a 52 pro for my built 2jz. Currently has a T74GTQ-DBB, and I want a small inducer truck turbo for the "sleeper" aspect. I think it would be hard for someone to expect a stock turbo to run high 8's at 150+.

Stopped at a volvo dealer today... They didnt have any deals on turbos for me, but they had a whole boat load of HX52's and their VGT cousins laying around. The HX52 motor (a D12, made mostly between 04-06), made 340hp, while the VGT version (HE531VE) made almost 500. They really enjoyed talking about turbos, as most of them were completely clueless about their turbos ( I said holset and they all cocked their heads sideways), and VERY clueless about them working on gas motors, which we all know is typical of the diesel guys.

Sure I am forgetting some stuff but what do you guys think?

I will remind you that this is not just a "dream" build with made up mods lists. Most of this stuff has already been purchased and the car is being assembled as we speak.

Take a look at my blog. I am still behind on updating it though. I actually just began the body work on the car last night.

Just read through your blog and DAMN! That car is going to be sick. You guys are doing awesome work. The only question I have is why you decided to go with twin 38mm gates instead of bigger? V-band would be much easier and less of a hassle since you don't have to worry about gaskets.

Thanks for the compliment. The car should e a lot of fun. I am excited to see what the HX40 will do.

As for the wastegates we are using the new tial MVS v-band 38mm gates.

Ah, sounds good then. What are you planning to set the boost at?

Honestly I don't know yet. I was hoping to get some input from some people in this thread. I'm not sure how much power we can make with it but the more the merrier. My original goal was to make 700hp but after seeing what the .55 housings are doing I don't really know what is realistic and what is not.

With a built motor I don't see why you can't push 30-35psi. Check the "results" thread to comapre some numbers. I can tell you one thing, my car is full weight with an HX35 @ 24psi and it pulls hard. An HX40 at 30+psi in a 2600lb car is going to pull like a freight train!

Which TS mani r u going with? I am very curious about your setup because this is the same route I wanna go ,depending on the results u get with the 18cmTS hsing. I will be following your updates.:thumb:

NICE! I just looked at the pics!

I'm really not satisfied with my 7 blade HX35. Its a good turbo and makes good power, but I'm really kinda bored with it after 500 miles.

I'm either going to go to a HX40/HX35 hybrid or pick up a HX40 for cheap and a Darkperformance manifold. I want full boost (30 psi) by 4000-4200 rpm and the ability to flow 60-65 lbs/min. Right now I'm only at 54 lbs/min at 30 psi and I hit full boost at 4600 rpm with a 2.0, stock 6 bolt intake mani, FP2 cams, twin scroll 12 cm housing and an open manifold. I do not want a big laggy turbo. I like tons of torque and a huge power band. I would like to stick to a T3 setup with a twin scroll manifold but I'm not spending that kinda money on one.

Any opinions on what I should do? Right now when if I break boost in second the car is ####ing retarded and its everything it can do to get traction on street tires. Its a solid 125 mph car, and thats cool, but I want a 130 mph car and don't want to spend another 1500 to get there.

Your 7blade hx35 compressor flows 60lb/min. Upgrading the compressor wont do anything to get you closer to 60lb/min. Even the gt35r (larger turbien wheel than the little hx35 turbine wheel) and stock garrett housing needs more boost than 30psi with a typical 2.0L build to net over 60lb/min.

Yep, you have to go to twin scroll to see the results you seek. No open housing gt35r or smaller turbo spools to 30psi by 4200rpms and flows over 60lb/min at that 30psi.

Like I had said the hx35 7blade in the stock hx35 housign and an open manifold spools to about 20psi by 4K.

You gotta pay to play Steve, sounds like an hx40 may fit the bill.

I know I gotta pay to play. Hahaha. I'm trying to save up for a new house this year so I really don't want to spend anymore money on this car but I set a goal for myself to have a 130 mph full weight 2g street car this year and I want that. After I have that I'll be satisfied for a bit.

I've pretty much decided to go with a 6 blade HX40 wheel/housing, remove as much of the divider in the turbine housing as I can and port match it to the manifold, and see where that gets me.

Can anyone give me an idea of what rpm's I will see full boost at with my he351 off an 05 dodge with the original 9cm housing running at around 22-24psi
