No partout for me! It was just a long last year with the shell swap, and having a kid, but yes I'm back and ready for a great year!

Just found video, that thing moves!!! I am gonna def try 37psi when i get some new injectors.

Yeah 37psi is a monster, were gonna turn it up to 40-45 on the next outing!!

Big secret if you highlight below....

Holset's font is "Pepsi". The guy who does my decals made it in literally 30 seconds by typing "Holset" in caps and outlining it.

They are still around, but who cares? They don't have a leg to stand on, they never did before and they really don't now. The thing that's funny to me, is that these people that talked all this shit on holsets...including MAJOR vendors for the DSM scene...are now selling housings for Holsets and a different vendor is actually actively selling rebuilt/modified holsets. ROFL That's the ultimate revenge, to be forced to sell parts for a turbo you talked shit about from day one and called "junk". ;)



Keep kicking ass Dave, and Jusmx turbos FTW!
 
Not to jump in as a hater, but just to state that any dsm that ways ~2300 lbs and is built to the point Dave's car is SHOULD be running in the 9's with a large frame turbo. (built motor, dog box trans, caged, etc)

This post is in NO MEANS to take away from what was accomplished, I'm just stating that this is a race car, and should go 9's with any turbo that flows ~70 lbs/min, (hx40, gt35r/6262 and there variances [hta, EFR series, etc.], regaurdless if it's a Holset or not.

Again, congrats to all involved on the single digit pass!

Totally understandable, I'm just proving that holsets are bad ass when equipped to a good setup! Also you don't need to spend shit tons of money on a name brand turbo!

For the most part I agree, and I'm definitely not being one of the rabid argumentative toolbags, but 100lbs is only .1 in the 1/4 mile. Your average DSM is 2700-2900lbs(1G's at least). So the same car with the same turbo setup etc would still only be .4-.6 off Dave's time. 9.6 to 9.8's with much more seat time, boost, and etc to go is very impressive especially considering those saying the only reason Dave went so fast last time was because of the batmowheel. That's how I look at it at least.

Right, but until now nobody would believe a Holset could do it because results weren't there and shops don't want to touch them. This is the furthest thing from a shop car. ;)

People will argue they're slow, unreliable, and have picky oiling....well the first claim has obviously been covered, and I haven't done shit to this turbo in the past three years minus two months and maybe six or eight track passes where the BatMoWheel turbo was on the car. Still no shaft play, no broken turbine shafts- it's been rebuilt one time since it was purchased at the end of the first season after Dave's oil pump failed and sent some aluminum from the housing directly into the turbo, and that was only precautionary. Based on those results, anyone who has repeated problems with their Holset is definitely doing something wrong.

I have a total of $435 in the turbo including the purchase of the turbo itself and the BEP housing. Compare that to a journal bearing PTE's which begin around $900, or some of the ball bearing turbos from PTE and other vendors which can exceed $2000.

Something everyone needs to keep in mind- this is still a 60mm turbo. Take a look at the 1/4 mile times listed on this site and see that everyone above Dave has at least a 67mm compressor inducer with a handful even in the 70's. Needless to say, I'm quite excited to see 8's out of this turbo despite Dave only running a 9-second pass two times. Who else just skips right over 9's like that? LOL
 
How much does the 300m tcase run?? That's what I'm looking at for a future upgrade :hellyeah:.

Tried boostin performance's site but didn't see anything about the tcase's in the services section.

Well the Infamous Green 4g63 S2000 did...but still ;-) ..haha ...

I'd also like to see 160 MPH on the HX40 ... but another 6 MPH is asking A LOT at these speeds... we shall see :)...

8's are a good 60 foot away...

I want a 160mph just as bad as a 8s pass, but yeah definitely gonna be a tough one for that! Just sucks I picked up so much more speed in the 1/8th but only 3mph in the 1/4 with being almost 500lbs lighter. Time for some aerodynamics done to the car... my mirror deletes are on their way, next payday ill order the front bumper shutters. Going to frontline this weekend to make some rear defusers for the bumper!
