It’s honestly very easy, and to be honest at least for me personally, one of my most favorite things to do ever. Especially on an OEM style rebuild. And it’s rewarding. When it runs and it kicks a** for another 200,000 miles you can puff your...

      I'm doing all the assembly myself.:D (so I hope you're right):thumb:

Honestly the more I hear about your machinist the more I would STRONGLY suggest going somewhere else. First he makes a typo saying he’s gonna bore the block out to 86.5mm from 85.0, and now he refuses to do a simple 21 to 22mm bore job? A student...

Update - it was a typo. 85.5mm it is! This is more what I was expecting.:cool:Thanks @DSMPT and @CrackedDSM for your input.

CrackedDSM replied to the thread 1G 86.5mm bore?.
You can follow what you like. I tend to trust people that have actually built the 4G64/4G63 platform and pushed it beyond the limits of reasonability and their input. 86.5mm 4G’s have done 600whp reliably. No offense meant or taken, just...

CrackedDSM replied to the thread 1G 86.5mm bore?.
Not exactly true. The OEM composite gasket has a bore of 87mm on it. As does the oem 4G64 DOHC composite. My built 4G64 was bored over by my machinist and thats the gasket I used. Didn’t hang over the cylinders at all.

I need rotors soon for the edge and I hope to god they’re not the same as the f150’s. Lol.But seriously. Find something older and more inexpensive to fix.

Oh trust me I know, I am the one person that does body shop orders for Ford and Hyundai at my dealer. Mirrors are 600-900, headlights and taillights sometimes are 700 and sometimes are 1300. Prices are going up while quality is going down.. then...

New cars suck, man. I love my edge. It’s comfortable, it rips(12’s in a heavy crossover pig suv rips idc what anyone says), but nothing replaces the DSM. It’s nice for a daily but once they’re out of warranty the dumbest f*****g things are...

CrackedDSM reacted to Dericsh's post in the thread What's your "sell it now" price? with Like Like.
New cars are over rated. And overpriced lately. They make good daily drivers, but you’ll be bored and dsm shopping again in a couple years. So keeping the gsx is a good idea for sure!My sell it now price would be something that no one would...

If the enthusiasm is gone, the price exists. I'm at the point where I've owned the car for nearly 15 years, and I'll be so deep into it financially when it's finally done, that I don't think that there is an offer that would do it. It's my car...

100% LCD with LED backlight. I've sent Prosport an email about this, but I doubt they will (a) care, and (b) have any resolution.*edit* nobody should like this post :P

For what it’s worth, if you use Evo pistons they aren’t the bump in compression some might hope for. They come out to something like 8.3:1 or 8.2:1. You can still find NPR 2G pistons brand new if you search a little, and those will hold well...

CrackedDSM replied to the thread Ceddy Mods Gone?.
I have to find my old computer but I’ve got the paid ceddymods w/ big maps and stuff. No promises on a time table but I’ll host them somewhere and just post them for everyone. If Ceddymods has a problem with this he can contact me and host them...

It always did really well on my 14B and 16Gs as well, just 100% needed the wastegate flapper hole addressed like you did. It’s a great part tbh. The one(and seemingly only) good thing about CHY-NAH bay 16Gs.

Idk man, I think if we’re comparing smells CO would be the Skunk state. And central/south Florida is like a completely different state. New York City vs upstate.

I grew up in Englewood, literally less than a mile or two from Englewood High School on S. Downing St. :) I remember Colorado very well. Bought my first dsm there!
