ECMlink First SD log/runs like complete crap

Details of car in my build thread, they're up to date. GM 3 Bar Map, GM IAT. The plug was super finicky and at first it wouldn't read but -30, but replugging it in fixed it.


Problems: Well, to sum it up, it runs like complete garbage. It will idle on its own for like 30 seconds? Then immediately just cut out and die. I have to use the gas pedal to keep it running. It also is running pig rich at idle, and refuses to let me adjust it at all. Adjusting global, adjusting the Speed Density table to ridiculously low values, all have no effect.


Please help. Look at this log and throw me a line here because I'm lost as to why it's not letting me make any kind of changes.

Update: Okay so I was just adjusting the wrong cells in Speed Density tab. Facepalm. I'm a newb with ECMLink's SD so I had no clue those numbers on the left didn't coincide with MAP sensor, it's a combo.


Adjusting the proper cells has the idle AFR way closer to where I want it, and it idles on its own now without assistance. Occasionally it has a...stumble? But honestly, it's smoother than on the MAF by a lot. So we can cross that off.


However the problem has progressed to now it has a very slight hesitation/stumble when I stab the gas, and after the RPMs comes back down it stumbles, bumbles, and dies. I'm assuming it's because the rest of the SD table isn't tuned/adjusted, and probably some tip-in adjustment needs to be made too.

Either way here's a newer log. Check it out, call me out, let me know. Drop some knowledge into my skull.


Edit #2: Also, after messing with the harness, I think the Map Sensor connector is a POS. It's a green one that was included with this harness pre-made, and I think it's not fully connecting/seating the pins in the connector. Because if I wiggle it, the sensor "dies" on the log. So, that's probably part of the problem as well. I have the OG GM connector that came with my map sensor that is slightly shorter and the pins sit closer to the "opening" of the connector, so I'll solder that on tomorrow and mess with it more. But so far...it's progress. I think SD is gonna make this thing idle and drive like a champ.

I took a look at your SD VE map and I'm thinking the area of the map with 35's seems low? I have (55-65) in that area.

The pressure scale on the left is "Absolute" PSI, meaning, Vac = 0psi , No Boost WOT = 14.7psi, and then everything above 14.7 is in boost. 10psi boost is 24.7psi. OK?

The typical way to bring your Combined FT to hover around 0% (14.7 AFR on the wide-band) is to increase SD VE cells to make it richer, and lower SD VE cells to make it leaner.

In your case, I think you are trying to lean out too much in the SD table. Maybe 35 is needed, but I would look at how the idle trims perform with MAF. ( I only suggest MAF here in your SD thread because an un-molested MAF is a good reference) Are your combined FT hovering around 0 with the way your dead-times and base fuel pressure is setup with MAF?

Also - 1000rpm idle target - ? Maybe for now - but I think this could be lower as you get better calibration

Keep in mind - you need logs with the coolant up to temp - 190deg F and above.
