It was one of those I wonder if thoughts. I have a 16cm t3 housing for it. just thought that the 10cm housing would be a little better for spool and it has a pretty large internal gate. I wont worry about it any more. is the is the jm fab the only t3 twinscroll housing avalable at the moment? do they allow the hx 40 to clear the block?
thanks

I just picked up a holset he351cw and am trying to find where to get a replacement compressor wheel for it. It has the 9cm housing t3 open. It needs rebuilt and the new compressor wheel.Anyone ever run one? I got it for free just wondering if it is worth my time too rebuild and sell or just trash it.

before i put my HX35 on, should i port out the O2 WG hole more? it is not drilled or set up for an internal one

and i am using a TiAl 44mm off the o2.

Needs to be ported WAY more.

If you don't want to creep yes, port it more. When I had my 40mm gate off the o2 on my hx35 setup I used a socket for reference. Pick the biggest socket that will fit in the gates entrance and port the hole big enough till u can fit the socket in the turbine housing hole.

Bullseye has a listing of turbine housings.

Assuming I had an HX35 and running external gate this is the item I will need..

TMH1 Mitsu Inlet, Holset CHRA HX-35 External

Thanks,
Chris.

I would try either getting it direct from bullseye or try SBR. I ordered mine from them and got it within a week. I think I paid $260ish with shipping for a hx35 mitsu flanged turbine housing with the .55ar ratio.

So what mike1992 is saying is to place the largest socket possible into the teardrop area and port the wastegate hole out so there is essentially no step left for the socket to sit on?
I just picked up my housing as well and I am contemplating to run a wastegate from the o2 housing or from the manifold. If I decide to run the wastegate from the exh. manifold I would have to weld the wastegate hole shut on the turbine housing?

Sorry, don't want to steal the thread but this is my first time with an external gate set up being as BEP stopped making internal ones now for the holset so now I have to learn a hole new ball game on the external gates. I planned on using a 38mm gate for this but I'm not sure what would be better, wether it be from the o2 hosuing or from the manifold. Suggestions?

When you said you got your BEP housing from "them" did you mean from SBR or direct from BEP?

As far as wastegating I have read alot of threads about using the manifold and using the o2 housing. Lots of guys are running from the o2 housing with very good results.

Initially I was just going to get a flange welded onto my stock exhaust manifold, but I think I may just get one of the ebay 38mm flanged recirculated o2 housings. Then get either a vband kit and re-flange my downpipe, or just get a regular downpipe flange and re-flange the o2 housing. Basically whatever flange I can get for cheaper I'll use.. :thumb:

The he351cw compressor wheel is the 7blade hx40 60mm wheel :) . . . HT Turbo, Gillett Diesel, etc. have this wheel; or maybe contact Jusmx141 here on the forums.

ok thanks guys!

i did not port the BEP where the o2 flapper would be, i just cleaned up the main part where the exhaust gasses would flow going to the turbine

I have a question. Could I assume that the he351vgt is the same compressor wheel? And if so would you know if the hx40 compressor housing would swap over????? I really want to use this turbo (already have one) but the compressor outlet is firing toward the passenger side (like the stock t25 outlet). I need it to go the other way driver side.

Thanks.

Can't you just turn it on the manifold so it is facing the way you want it then clock it where you need it?? Or am I misunderstanding your question?

I have a question about the 19cm2 housing on the hx40, I've searched all around and it looks to me as if everyone is running a bolt on style housing. Is anyone actually running the stock twin scroll 19cm2 housing, and what kind of results are they having? Spool time, power/rpm, etc???

Port the ridge out completely, and then some. It can't hurt.

The HX40 uses a snap ring to hold the compressor cover on. If the HE351CW is like the HE351VE, which I think it is, it uses a v-band clamp so its not compatible.

You could look into the cover from a HE431V, at least the one I have measured has an identical compressor wheel to the 351V, so its might fit. That compressor cover had a straight discharge with a vband.

Thanks for the fast response. Do you know where I could find one of those covers? also what is the difference between the he351 and the he431? Again thanks areo sallee for the help and how is your car comming? did you get the engine fixed?

I will be running the stock 19cm2 t4 housing here very soon actually. I should have some logs up within a week or two hopefully.

I will have mine running probably in the middle of summer. I'm just about finished and I'll be running the h1c first with the 18cm^2 housing and full divided runner manifold, top mount. DyNamiC and I traded housings so that I can stay t3 for when I swap to the wh1e (hx40) and so that he could keep is t4 twinscroll manifold :) . Between the two of us, we should be able to give a good idea of how it will work on a general setup. I have a 2.0L and fp2 cams I'll be running a stock intake manifold at first. And I'll be using link. So the graphing will tell all.

If everything goes well i should have my 17cm t4 twin scroll setup running this weekend as well. I just noticed i was missing a valve seat for one of my wastegates. :ohdamn:

here are some pictures of how mine is going
do you guys think that hte coupler is to close to the Dump? it dumps lower then the coupler

I would have went toward the radiator instead so that it was away from the coupler but if you just put a heat sleve around the coupler area I think you will be cool. Setup looks nice though :thumb:

Should be fine with the dump like that. The dump tube doesn't even get that hot considering, it only dumps when your WOT. I don't even have mine wrapped and its all gravy.
