Heres my HX55 mocked up to my engine just to see what it'll look like.

im not exactly sure on race weight but its around 2950 or so.

I was running AVE gas with meth as well.

As for the boost level it was higher then 26psi as thats were it started. when i made the 485hp the boost was trying to hold around 30 or so, i turned it up past that but it never made anymore power as the turbo was overspinning and was getting real hot. I think in the end i had turned the boost up well over 15psi to get 6 or so out of it so im assuming whatever leak that arose must be big cause that turbo can easily do 40psi.

Going by my MPH and car weight i should be around 540-550whp which is what i expected until i lost all my boost:notgood:. Oh well next time:cool:

Also since there was no cfm from the leak the power fell off at 6000rpm too!!! max power 6000rpm or 99mph:notgood: what a joke. hehe.. i KNOW there was another 75hp to be had..

Is that the DNP T4 manifold? If so, do you have any more pictures of it? Im considering getting one, but havent seen any good pictures of it or data on it. It is divided, correct? How much clearance do you have between the exhaust housing and the block?

What size housing is that? The runners look extremely wide, like it might be 20+cm.

So I really want to run an HX35 bolt on, but I don't know anymore.
Anywho price went up on teh bolt on kit from turbotrader.
I want a HX35 in dsm housing internal gate.

Hey GORBS I must say your numbers truely are impressive especially on a stock motor besides the cams and head studs. Anyway my question is what exactly is AVE gas I did a quick google on it with no luck is it like C16 or E85 or something?

Excellent results, GORB. You are way over 500WHP on Dynojet. Congrats !!!
-Try and find the boost leak source. Friend of mine had a brand new HX-40 in BEP 0.55 T3 housing. They went on a dyno and didn't make good power and after a few days turbo blew. He was overboosting the turbo, cause when they assembled it, installing the WG/Tial-44mm/, the guy forgot to put the RING, that goes around the valve/piston of WG. That was causing the turbo to overspin, get really hot and finally BLEW. So be carefull and don't blow it...

P.S. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all HOLSET gearheads !!!

I need to figure out how I'm going to use my H2E. The turbine inlet flange is odd sized and I have no clue how I'm going to use it.

Well, my exhaust manifold is a T3/T4 stainless/tubular. The H2E is a little bigger than the T4, but I don't think it's a T6... I have no real clue, just know I wanted to get the H2E because it's comparable to the HX50 and that's a good turbo for our engines, but everything else... I'm lost.

Hey guys my next turbo upgrade from the 16g is gonna be a holset turbo. I found this one near my location. What do you guys think? What all would i need to run this turbo?

Turbocharger

Id suggest that if you are gunna spend that much that you hold out for a 7 blade hx35 if you are wanting that size of turbo. As for what you would need, its covered in this thread and depends on a few variables and what you are wanting to do with it.

Holset H1C w/ 21sqcm housing, 1.0 A/R, capable of flowing 60.85lb/min @ 30psi. /

exhaust housing is way bigger than whats used on the HX52, and I wouldnt even expect my turbo to flow that sort of 60/lb/m on my 7blade hx35.

Question:
Whats this White version of the Holset?

H1e = shitty HX40. its an 8blade, so it MIGHT flow the 60lb/m that the other guy was talking about his h1c is going to flow. The exhaust housing is giant, 19cm is crazy.

He made a bunch of crap up. first he says the compressor wheel is bigger than a hx40, wrong its a 58mm.... Then he said it has an anti surge cover, wrong, only the HX's had the anti surge.

I dont think a 19cm housing would be too big if you run it with a divided manifold. It might not be the best setup, but it should spool by at least 5k. Im running a 18cm housing on my 60mm 7 blade hx40 and a non-divided manifold and its spooled around 5k.

If you are calling the MWE groove the anti surge, they were an option on some of the older holsets too and not exclusive to the hx's

Be careful not to just say what you've seen, there are a lot of different holsets (I'm sure all of us know that by now!)

If you look back in either page two or three of the holset turbo's there was a guy who had an H1E that had a larger exhaust wheel and couldn't get the hx-40 bolt-on housing to fit. On the other hand, I have an H1E and I purchased an hx-40 bolt-on housing and it fit like a glove...

As for the MWE (anti-surge, whatever you want to call it), they do have them. At least the one's that I have and I think dsm_onster has one and I believe andy4g63 has one too.

I would not call it a shitty turbo by any means :thumb:

I am just curious but has anyone ran that knock off super drag hx40w? I know it's possible to get a holset cheaper, but I was just wondering if it's just like those knock off Evo 3s. The specs make it seem like the 8 blade hx40. Also I was wandering say you put an 8 blade holset with the t3 hotside would you still be able to get the same type of numbers as gorbs and others have put up?

Hey guys can I get filled in one the small H1C? I'm considering one of these combined with the BEP housing for my 95 automatic. These threads are ridiculously long and all seem to be about the hx35 and 40, if anyone has lbs/min and spoolup info could they post it up

Sorry I came off so matter of fact.

I didnt stop to think they offered the MWE grooves on the h1's, I should remember that anything is possible there.

In the end its still a smaller compressor than most any HX40's we have seen.... its at least smaller than any of the 6/7 blade hx40's, but possibly larger than a 8 blade hx40.

I couldnt imagine my turbo with anything more than this 12cm housing, and a few of the guys in town that run holsets have never ran more than 16cm housings. If you didnt care about spool and planned on the compressor flowing 70lb/m and making north of 620whp, go for it!

the beginning of the threads should have a brief run down of the h1c. Went ahead and looked spool around 3500+ rpm good for about 400 to 500 hp early version of the hx35 goes into more detail at the beginning of the discussion.
