Thanks for all of the great info! I will definitely be considering the BEP HX40pro as my next turbo. Sounds like full boost at low 4k and 60+lb/min capabilities!

These turbo's are non-water cooled, correct? Are there any special flanges or fittings you need that attaches from the braided lines to center sections? I already have a -10an return line and -3/-4an feed setup for my garret.

That main reason you see other cars running the Holset housing's is because they are not already a turbo car, and have to purchase an exhaust manifold anyways. I think that is the reason we see so many turbo's with great potential get nuderd by the use of a mitsu housing. People please just buy a T3 or T4 manifold. Personally I would get a divided T4 manifold and use a T3 adapter if you are currently going to run a T3. Then in the future you can slap that "FAT" T4 on and say screw it to spool and some bottom end.

As for the feed and return it's been told over and over and over again. Read the first 2 threads and all your questions will be answered and then some. I don't remember off hand or I would just give it to you. I've had my feed and return set-up for years now so I've long forgot. Personally I would use a push lock style return line. Much easier to install with far less hassle. Last return I got for someone was a push-lock and we received the darn SS "bling bling" line. I was so pissed off and not wanting to spend the time to put the line together I just grabbed my return and put it on that car. Those that have had built their return lines with SS will understand where I'm coming from.

Matt. Have you gotten your H1C yet? I have a H1E in a box in storage. When I moved a while back I threw away like 4 hot sides one of them being my H1E and I'm sooo upset at myself for it now. If you happen to have a T4 hot side that you don't want to run I'll take it and definitely compare it with the HX-52 just gee wiz comparison.

Sorry for seeming course but the only reason I got the BEP housing was because I was on a budget also known as being "CHEAP". The turbo sounded wicked and I was running 30+ PSI and making ok power, but it was definitely not what it should have been. I could definitly tell right away. I was more upset at myself than anything. Instead of getting a new bolt on Holset look around for a deal on a HX/HY 35 locally and with the saved money get a T3 manifold and external W/G. It will cost a bit more but not much. End product is night and day though. Go to the local diesel meets and ask around for a HX/HY 35. I'm willing to bet you could find a good one for under $150. Better yet pay a visit to your local junk yard. Chances are if you find a turbo out their it's on a truck that caught fire or threw a rod. But you never know.

The guy hasn't given me a tracking number. I won the bid yesterday. This h1c has the 18cm^2 turbine housing. I'm pretty sure that it is a t3 flange though, not a t4. Would you still want it? It's a little big for any future plans of mine :) . I will be using the bep while I fab up a t3 split runner manifold and external gating for a 12cm^2 holset housing. I want 'run by run' comparisons. I think that a 12cm^2 or 14cm^2 Holset housing would be great for me.

Which reminds me: Is there ANY way possible a divided housing/runner setup can successfully control boost with ONE external gate? I'm thinking that running a large gate of off one pair of runners would suffice. . .

If you get the manifold fabbed up I would have the gate go between both halves. A good fabrication guy can do it no problems. It wouldn't have the effect to tring to pull exhaust gasses up from the other set of cylinders. OR. You could have both sides tied together into one gate. Like it would be with 2 external gates but the 2nd gate would just wrap around into the other side so you could use just one gate. If you are looking to run 35+ PSI then 2 external waste gates are just a waste of money to up the "bling" performance. If you can understand what I'm trying to portray.

Being a H1C it's probably a T3. Chances are it wouldn't fit w/o getting it milled, but come summer time I might be interested in it. My DD is in desperate need of work. My truck has a 700r Trans that is just not healthy and I need to rebuild it. I just dumped like $600 into it and it's still poop. I'm thinking of putting the H1E on so I can use it as my DD until I can rebuild my trans. It doesn't take long but I work like 70 hours a week so I could take me 2 months to get around to it. But I did just put a new exhaust on it to get rid of the craptastic straight pipe's (no cats or mufflers) that has been on it for years. My neighbors I'm sure will be loving it as it's not near as loud as it was. :)

Got the hx-40 PRO on and running yesterday, fit good. There were no differences going from the hx-35 to the 40, fitment was the same, compressor housing was the same.:D The roads around here are still covered in snow and ice so i was only able to take it around the block to make sure everything was alright. I am waiting impatiently for the roads to clear so i can see what this monster will do

That was pretty quick! Let me know how it compared to your old Holset. That turbo served me well, but I am on to bigger and better things!

I will be building a t3 manifold here shortly, tubing is ordered and i have everything else. I'm swaping a H1E into a divided 12cm divided housing. I posted pictures of it awhile back. I have the 21cm T4 divided housing that is brand new if someones interested PM me. I will be building the manifold divided and getting a feed from both sides 2-1 WG.

Thank you Matt. If a 50/55 flows 92 lbs/min I would hope the 52 would be a tad less, but even if it's a tad more it won't be the 120 lbs/min that was going around on the diesel forums when I bought it last year. I do know the diesel guys where pushing 60 PSI with it and it was definitly very powerful up until it broke the turbine shaft. Let us know what you think of your 40 PRO man. I'm hoping it's in the holset TH.

Sorry dude, it's in the BEP housing right now. This exact turbo was dynoed at 521awhp at 28psi so we'll see how it works. If it's not enough at that point then i can go to the .70 A/R housing.

Considering an hx55 flows enough for 1000hp in any atmosphere anywhere on earth :p , I suspect your turbo should do well for what you and I talked about over the phone.

GORBS88, is that an hx35/40 hybrid. . . or a straight hx40 pro with the bep housing?

It's a straight HX 40 pro with the smaller BEP housing, should be good for what i'm looking for:D ... i hope!!!!

Like GORBS88 mentioned that exact turbo on my evo made 521 WHP, but that was maxed out, I couldn't squeeze anything else out of that housing. If you want to exercise that turbo to its full potential you need to stick it in the new BEP .70 A/R T3 housing, add about 10 more PSI and I would expect some 625+ WHP results.

Does anyone have a WGA for an HX40? I've sourced a turbo and a housing, but need a WGA. PM me inf you've got what I need. ;)

I have a few different bracket and WGA combinations, just let me know what you are looking for.
