I got my oil return on the other day, I used a standard t3 package and an extra 90 degree fitting from home depot. Works good, no leaks yet...because I havn't started my car in over 5 months!

Is the compressor outlet v-band?

It is 2.5" vband. I ordered a kit from extremepsi. I'm going to weld a vband flange to a 90* cast aluminum elbow. I also ordered a 3' section of 2.5" aluminum IC piping and another 90* cast aluminum elbow. When it gets in I'm gonna fab up my LICP. The SSAC piece wasn't going to cut it for me, so I splurged. The Vband parts were the most expensive.

I see you might have a tight fit with the motor mount. This makes me happy that I went with a 1/2" head to manifold spacer from RRE. I have plenty of clearance on the mount, waterpipe, and block. I didn't have to dent anything. However I did have to make my own head ---> manifold studs from graded M8x1.25 thread-all from Fastenal. I snagged two M10x1.25 bolts for the outside holes. I should have my LICP fabbed up sometime this weekend or early next week. Depends on when my parts get here.

I need to quit dragging my feet and get some pictures. :rocks:

I've been searchign for an H1c and can't find any that use a "normal" t3 exhaust flange. They are all divided housings. My problem with that is i already have a turbonetics T3 manifold and don't want to change, but would go back to a stock 2g mani if i had to.

Anyone able to point me towards an H1c with a standard t3 flange on it?

Well, that could be a little more laggy than what Glenn wants. . . Only because I've been talking to him over PM about my h1c and Jeremiahs hx35. He wants that kind of spool (30 psi by 3800rpms). If there's no way to get a t3 flanged .55 a/r housing then it probably would be best to use an adapter and buy one of your Mitsu inlet .55 a/r stainless housings. The adapter would lower the compressor and allow it to miss the water pipe, too. As long as the tranny rollstop is out of the way. . .

Of course, I have no idea how much slower the spool will be with the bigger housing. I just know what a small bep housing can do.

Theres a seller on ebay (slaug?? i think) that had a whole warehouse full of used holsets. Its were I picked up my seized H1c for $35. Send him a EM and see if he has what your looking for. I live about 30min from the place and can run down there when I get back home (business trip for the weekend) and check one out on monday.

Should have the LICP the way I want it and the fans mounted up this week. :thumb:

Well the ebay vendor I purchased my 90* elbows from sent me two 2.5" tbolt clamps instead. How in the heck they valued 2 tbolt clamps at dang near $70, I don't know. I'm trying to get them to get the elbows out today but I doubt it. -1 for x02racing for now.

That's not good. . .

I havn't been updating because I've discovered that my rings are burned up. I blew my head gasket but not until the rings were shot. Blue smoke everywhere. Before oil: 45, 95, 110, 120. After oil: 75, 125, 130, 150. The head gasket was replaced properly. I've done it a dozen times. I'll be using stock 6-bolt rods/pistons again but with arp rod bolts this time. Enough for reliable 500+ whp. And of course that 2g maf.

I drove the car around today. Yes it still drives and it reaches 15psi before 4K. . . On 3 weak cylinders LOL.

Anyone making any good numbers on stock bottom ends? I'm starting to wonder what boost level I'll have to run to meet my goal of 400awhp (I'll be dynoing FWD). I'd be more than happy with a nice 350, however I'm wondering how far I can push the pump 93 and stock 7 bolt bottom end. I may wind up with a low boost tune until I can decide on a meth setup.

Well, for the v-band plange on the turbo, I just ground it down and left a little lip on there to help sealing.

I started my car today after 6 months! All I need is accy. belts and I'm done. Then we will see what this h1e is made of.

A local guy did the same with his HX40 Pro and every time it hit full boost over 18psi it blew the silicon elbow off. He wound up buying a new compressor cover. This is why I opted for the vband. It looks cool too. ;)

Anyone have any info/pointers on polishing cast aluminum?

I did this because my buddy has hx-35's on both his dsm's and he's ran excess of 30psi and no problems yet, so I guess it's all in how they did it.

as for polishing:

I did this and it works very well, I just had some "pores" on my compressor housing in some places because I used a dremel before all the sandpaper to shave letters down. If you're going to use a dremel, be very careful. It's very soft metal.

He must've ground off too much of the lip, we did the same thing on Carl's HX40 and it held as much as 40psi, never blew off.

Another friend is running the v-band outlet, I know he had some difficulty finding the matching flange and clamp though.
