Hey wiseman I am external...The internal flapper door has been removed completely, and the hole to the outside welded shut. Now the 38mm flapper hole is still open. BTW I have had this set up for 1 year with no problems. Just switched from a small fmic with 2 1/2 inlet/outlets to a huge fmic with 3 inch inlet/outlets could this be the problem?

No, not the intercooler itself. I'd check your boost source to the wastegate actuator, if you've monkeyed with the intercooler piping recently. Where is the gauge referencing boost and where is the actuator referencing boost?

Lo2210: The Official HX50 & HX55 Compressor Map. 65mm is about the size of a gt40 inducer not a gt42 (70mm and 74mm choices). the gt42 turbine has a 75mm exducer though. There are a couple of compressor wheels that can come with an hx50-55, I believe. I doubt you actually have the compressor wheel that flows 92 lbs/min like the compressor map considering the inducer diameter. The typical hx52 as a 71mm inducer.

Haha well I feel dumb, I forgot to calibrate the map for my altitude. I was probably pushing closer to 20psi and more lbs/min than that. I need to figure out my brakes and my 6 inHg idle problem then I'll get some more logs and post them up. Thanks

Hmmm, you stock maf doesn't care what your map sensor is doing or altitude. It along with the air temp sensor and baro gives the ecu enough to calculate exactly the airflow. DSMLink gives what the ecu sees with the maf. Yes, please post a log or two :) .

Thanks. I have to check to see the size.

Got the new hx-40 today!!!! went with the bullseye t-3 .70 a/r this time. Hopfully will have it all on and running this weekend. Will advise with spool times and such.

I finally reached the status of proven member so i can talk to you holset guys! I have a 2.3L stroker and i am about to put a holset hx35 with the divided 12cm housing on my engine. I have plans to most likely go with a bigger turbo down the road, but due to the lack of money right now, i want to give this a try. it should be a nice upgrade over the small 16g i am running now. What do you guys think?

YEAH!!! :rocks: get to the track1! :thumb:

Well, it will have more potential and be laggier:).

Do you plan on using a divided runner t3 manifold?

I did some more driving around today to test out my brakes again, and still nothing. But, i saw that I hit full boost a little after 42500rpm's. I say afterwards because that's when it starts to pick up (at 4250rpm's), and it's hard to look at 3 guages, the tach...oh, and the road at the same time. I'll get a log as soon as I get my brakes figured out, I promise.

It's really different going from a smaller turbo that you can just barely give it gas to get the car to start rolling foreward whereas this one you have to give it quite a bit of gas. The extra lag is completely worth the top end i gain though.

My plans were to make a tubular undivided t3 manifold, but i have been toying with the idea of making a divided manifold. I hesitate to build a divided t3 manifold because I'm not sure the WH1C will make the power i want. Ultimately i would like to try and reach 500whp on pump gas, but i know it will be very difficult to reach that goal, and im quite sure the wh1c is too small for that. I don't have the money to buy a bigger turbo at the moment, so i have been thinking of putting the wh1c on and maxing it out before i go any bigger. Do you think the HX40 would be able to make 500whp on pump gas? This is a brief and uncomplete list of what my setup will be.

2.3 stroker
Ported head, 1mm oversize valves, FP3x cams, SI duals...
aem ems, 880cc injectors, +all other fuel mods.
big FMIC + full intake and exhaust mods...

With this setup i feel like the wh1c would be really holding back the cars potential. What do you guys think?

The HX40 Pro is a monster. I'll be dynoing this weekend. Hopefully I'll have some nice results.

Don't look at the h1c as holding your setup back. Look at your setup as capable of extracting every ounce out of the h1c. Look at Curt Brown's car. . . You need an SMIM.

The wh1c has a 54mm inducer and a turbine larger than a t3 stage3. The divided runner set up may get you to that level. The mitsu bolton bep housing with the hx35 has put down 500whp. So it's not likely the turbine of the h1c is a restriction as a bolton.

It's not that hard/expensive to switch to a t4 hx40/h1e. Also you can pick up a t3 .70 a/r BEP housing for an hx40/h1e and run a divided runner manifold with zero negative effects.

I like that mentality! I am planning on getting a SMIM, just can't afford it quite yet. I should see how much horsepower it is possible to get from a wh1c. At that point if i still want more, maybe a HX-40 pro would be a good choice. I only see 2 or 3 guys that have dyno results posted using holsets, and i think it is about time to see some people make it onto the first or second page of the dyno results. I certianly plan to, but it will be awhile before i get my car all done. I really appreciate all the advice, thanks guys! :rocks:

Is anyone running a holset with the Holset exhaust housing?

I drove a friends 1g yesterday with an hx-35 internally gated like mine, mitsu bolt on housing, stock intake mani, all stock internals, FMIC and supporting mods..oh and nitrous. I drove it and it took until a little before redline to get that thing to spool up. It sucked driving. He said that with nitrous, it's a whole new ballgame, which is understandable. But I couldn't believe how much lag there was on that compared to my car with the h1e.
