hi guys,

i got myself a garrett turbo with a.r 50 and m33 stamped on the compressor side and the hotside is running a t4 flange but i cant see any casting marks.anyone has any ideas on what turbo is this? any ideas?:D

any ideas. the rear has a a.r 48 stamped on it. does anyone know wht hp range is this turbo good for. the last it was on a stock 1g with fuel mods and it made 390hp on the dyno.just wondering with my engine setup and cams could it reach 400-450whp?

Compressor wheel resembles a 60-1, but there are about (30) T04B compressors that also resemble a 60-1 but have nowhere near the airflow potential....although your turbo does appear to have a T04E cover.

I've never seen a .48 a/r divided T4 housing on anything, that's quite unusual to have such a large-flanged housing with such a small a/r.
 
i didnt remove the housing but measured from the compressor inlet and it was 62mm , might not be accurate but maybe could give some idea on this turbo size.
weird thing is it produced 390hp on the 1g with 4 additional injectors and a piggyback.

please don't bash on me, i'm just looking for some help.

I'm from i-club and someone referred me over to you guys for help from the evo forums.

i just received my evo3 16G turbo from extremepsi and i opened up the package to inspect it. basically there is no serial number/markings anywhere on the turbo to identify that it is a blouch, or an evo3, or a 16G turbo. it has some numbers here and there and it does have the mitsubishi logo.

can you guys identify this? or did i just waste my money....=/

Yeah, I've read nothing but good reviews about extremepsi. The only thing that worries me is that the turbo doesn't have a serial number or anything, I don't doubt them, but serial number/markings would've been nice.
 
Any pictures or dimensions of the compressor wheel? Blouch usually machines the part and serial number off the compressor cover, so that would be my best bet on the manufacturer. It is not a MHI evo3 compressor cover if you didn't already know that.
 
Technically speaking ExtremePSi sent you an Evo III 16g but thats not for a DSM, thats the Blouch TD05H-16g for the Subaru STi. I'd check the receipt and hopefully if you did by chance order the wrong one they'll give you some money back since I'm pretty sure its more expensive than the standard Evo III 16g us DSM'rs use.

blouch machined it off the compressor cover. Your good to go, Ive never had any problems with extremepsi so enjoy your new turbo.
 
I got a response from extremepsi saying this: The Blouch turbochargers use the 16g CHRA, but they use their own compressor and turbine housings. The usually do not have any serial numbers on the housing.

Now I have some piece of mind. Thanks everyone for you help! I appreciate it!
