What turbo is this?

I was digging through some old boxes in the garage and found this. I think I pulled this off a 2g back in 2007 or so thinking it was a t25 to bolt on when it's time to pass smog/visual inspections. Never needed it so it sat in a box. After looking at it closer, I know it's not a stock turbo. It say's 18g on the wheel and on the outlet, but it doesn't look like any 18g I've ever seen. Is this an old t28 or something? I'm genuinely curious about this turbo and it's origin.

Googling AiResearch t28 killer brings up a lot of images of tanks.
I'll get this 02 housing off this weekend to get a look at the hot side and take a few more pics. I think this is a different o2 housing. 1g or evo 3 maybe?
Wonder if this is worth cleaning up and rebuilding.

After researching, it honestly just looks like an 18G with a custom compressor cover designed to fit a 2G/T25 style. It's a good turbo.

I'd message Justin Whitesell on Facebook(known as Jusmx141 here on Tuners but he doesn't come here anymore) and see what he thinks. He'll tell you one way or another. I'm just going based off of his old posts.

I'm going to agree with you. Looks like someone modified a t28 compressor housing to fit on a mitsu center cartridge. Definitely unique.

Pretty cool little sleeper turbo. Probably doesn't have a ton of value, but I've never seen one like that before.
