Shouldn't be worried about the stock crank, it has made way more than 500hp. I am putting together an extremely similar setup. And I'm looking to hit the same numbers. I'll be interested to see what you end up with.

that is awesome. im really worried that 500hp daily driven talon isnt going to like a stock crank...

ill probably have to end up turning the boost down quite a bit...
 
Jake(Evil~Eagle) is still using a stock crank, just lightened. High 8's, 900+hp(IIRC).
 
Well, I found out that the h1e is way too big for an auto car. I went to the track and just tried to play around with it, I got a 3.xx 60' (I can hear laughing) and a 15.4 @ 111. Lol, I was laughing too after I saw this. I could only get it to 2200rpms and launch with 2psi. Needless to say, I'm ordering some nitrous here soon to spool the sumbeech, then I will get some real numbers.
 
so can i hit 500hp on a hx40 all boost on pump/meth combo???? i will still have a stock intake manifold tho...

here will be the mod list whenever i have time to throw my mods in...

Your stock intake and TB will be your choke point.

Why not get an appropriate sized stall coverter?

Im considering a HX40
Where is the best place to get a used HX-40, And how much do they usually run? I looked on ebay and only seen one up for sale.

And also how much is it for the BEP t3 70ar housing?

I can get a t3 60-1 for 600 new
So if i can get a used HX40 and BEP housing for under 600$ id def rather run the HX40.
 
I have a 3800rpm stall converter from IPT. I thought that would be big enough for this turbo, isn't it? I was thinking that I'm not building enough boost down low to make the rpm's jump up anymore than 2200rpm?

I would favor finding the torque curve of a engine and have a re-stall built around it, either loose or tight to match the torque of the motor as opposed to getting a stall based on rpm alone. I am not an expert on launching auto's with bigger turbos at all, but wouldn't think you would have trouble launching with the holset. Are you on the DSMLink forums? d_moss?

Well, I think it's possible. An intake manifold upgrade would help.

Hmmm, you have a 3800rpm stall converter? I'm no expert on AWD automatics either, but shouldn't you be able to launch at close to 3800rpms? Did you trip the lights before you started stalling? I know nitrous would help, but I would figure out why you spool so late before just putting ketchup on it and eating it. EVERYONE is getting their hx40 to spool to decent boost at around 4K on load. 111mph with full weight is around 350whp. . .
 
Got her on the dyno and the boost kept wanting to climb over 20psi. The WGA is supposed to have a 17psi spring. I've got it hooked up to a Hallman Pro.

Any help?

what are you running for a wastegate? Internal or external? If it is the internal gate then that is your problem, the intergate gate housings suck. The only way for me to fix it was to run 28 psi !!!!! let us know what your running.

I'm running the internal 38mm gate. I need to be able to run under 26psi or so as to not kill the stock 7 bolt.

I'm shooting for a 400awhp on this tune. The WG spring is supposed to be 17psi.

I need to make this setup work until I can splurge for a Tial 44mm housing. I might try to fab one up using my current 02 housing. I'm going to start looking for the 44mm flanges.

Sounds like a good plan, get rid of that internal ASAP !The wastegate spring presure doesnt mean much when the gate doesnt open enough and just wont flow enough. I messed around with my internal gate for a long time before i got it sorted out. The only way i would get it to work was to run 28 psi daily, thats were it would creep to so i just set it there.

Have you tryed to keep your foot into it and see where the boost stops? Mabe it will settle around 26-27psi.?

Save all your money and get that 44mm gate in there, will make all the difference.
 
My ebay 38mm works fine with my hx35/h1c. Cut a tubular o2 housing and welded on the flanges. Look in my gallary. How the unit is oriented when on the car was my final result. The pics of it off the car are of when the wastegate body was oriented too close to the alternator.

It came with the flanges and is reliable all the way down to 5psi. I've run 20 psi with it and it is rock solid. You have a different wheel than me. But, it's another option. $100 or less shipped with the flanges and gaskets.
 
Just wanted to ask, what did you guys do to plug the water lines that were used for the water cooled turbos? I also switched my oil cooler over to air cooled so I need to plug some nipples. I'm almost finished with my pre-fit and don't want to take the water pipe off and weld up the nipples.
 
I recirculated mine. Turbo water intake feeding a cut turbo water outlet line. I used fuel injection hose and worm clamps.

This is how I did mine as well. I do plan or using my current 02 housing.

It's 2.75" piping and its recirculated. I plan on running the 44mm dumped (or until I get tired of the noise, but I'm a ricer at hear).
