What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

I'll only be running low boost until I get the new injectors. Probably 18 psi or so tell the new injectors come in. I know I can't max the turbo out with them but I can get my feet wet.

from what i read i would think its an older one since fp will not verify the new version uses any mitsu parts and that one has the diamonds

Ya v3 lite and I'm getting an lc1 next check as well as the new injectors. It's got a tune by English racing and will be getting re tuned by them once I get everything installed. Fp2 cams are a month out then its tuning time.

Ok and I know this doesn't have to deal with this topic but ill be making out my EVO 560s before I upgrade. I heard 650s are big enough to max the turbo out on pump.

You will not max out that turbo with 650cc

On pump gas though. Not race gas or e 85. I've heard 24-25 psi is about the max on pump gas.

ok well ive took almost 2 hours and read this entire thread i cant figure out what kind of turbo this is that i took off my 420a that the previos owner blew the engine with it is a 16g im pretty shure. It says 49178-57700 stamped on it in big bold numbers. but it also has the same numbers in small stamp with 49178-04610 and its a double fin big then low on the turbine with DUCM stamped on the hotside with a mitsubishi symbol and thats it im just stumped i was wondering if it could be a hahn 16g maybe or is it just a knockoff plus theres a little shaft play up and down but u cant pull it in or out its solid that way but turns freely with no problem

From a bit of searching, I've seen the Hahn Super 16g mentioned a few times in regards to those numbers, but no solid info to prove this to you.

ok i just couldnt really find any mtaching number ill post some pics tommorow so u guys can get a better look at it i also saw some being mentioned but none with the numbers so thanks for the reply and anyone else that can help let me know what u think it is appreciated and could i rebuild this or this kind of shaft play normal

When i bought my laser the guy i bought it from told me the car had a 16g and had just been rebuilt . But then last night i was putting a forced performance intake pipe on my turbo and i was looking at the fins and there was like 10 or more , and some one told me all 16g have 6 fins . so my question is do they make 16g with 14b parts or did i get screwed?

If i remember right the TDO5H is a 16G.

14b has lots of fins and 16g is twin blades. Also supply a number which will be more helpful.

Yes to my knowledge as well all 16Gs have 6 fins i believe it probably does have 14b internals.

For the record, both 14Bs and 16Gs came in a TD05 compressor housing.

Last I checked, a 13G and a 9B are both Mitsu flanged turbos and they say TD04.

Last I checked, a 13G and a 9B are both Mitsu flanged turbos and they say TD04.

Its basically the same fvucking thing.. TD04 TD05.. Its compatible with any exhaust manifold

My thoughts exactly. We cannot be sure since we have not seen a picture of the fins. The 14b and 16g have the same size compressor housing and only differ with the inducer wheel. We need either the serial number or a picture of the wheel to know whether it is a 14b or 16g...he may not have lied just yet

so you can take a 14b hot side and center cartrigde and put a 16g inducer with propeller on a 14b?
