For the first time tonight I agree with, worry about yourself. I will be at Epping plenty, and I could care less if your car runs a 14 or a 9, as long as you ran it, had fun and were real.

I will figure out what is missing, you have my solemn word on that Erick.

I thank you kind sir, the many laughs this will ensue will thunder through these forums for the next week or 2. Which is about how long it will take for someone of equal or greater stupidity than that of your local ricer to arrive and steal our attention.

thxz lach glad to know you give two shits about my car or how far it is to being finished its all good cant wait to pick up my parts car. As far as work goes now ill be doing it by myself and only ask for help when i need it.

Spawned: The car needs about and hour or possibly 2 worth of work to be finished. Will i still beable to use that TiAL 50mm bov on a 14b at 17 lbs??

I hope you plan on doing a considerable amount of machine work to the center housing and compressor cover to make those 16G internals fit.
im going to do the research on it and see just how much work its going to take and make my decision from there may just buy a legit 16g off a forum

jeff i do care about ## car, y do u think ## using my fp manifold. and ive been working till 7 and taking the bus everyday and i get home at 8pm. and on my days off i try to spend with my kids and do all my errands and it doesn't nhelp that all 3 of my cars right now r broken aswell

98 gsx- needs to be finished and a new clutch master put in
97 rs- needs a motor
and my max has a split crank pulley

so trust me if i could i would bud!

Why is a fight from a different forum coming to this one LOL? I would troll this thread but id get another neg rep from a mod if i did.

That's a HUGE valve for such a small turbo; it would work, but it's a little overkill. The TiAL valve is made to evacuate air generated by large turbos (60+ lb/min) in a quick manner during competition to prevent damage due to compressor surge from too small of a blow off valve.

The most admirable thing any new member has EVER said on this site. My hat is off to you.

It will probably be cheaper to just sell your turbo outright and upgrade to something else. When the time comes, there are a few members on here who can set you up with a rebuilt 16G at about half the price of a new one- myself included. ;)

sorry lach im just pissed i could of had my car finished today but i had to take the turbo out and get it looked at to see where to put my water pipe should be done tomorrow.

and jusmx141 its my fault i was just in a rush to grab a turbo never thought of looking at the fins i feel like an idiot for doing so. the TiAL was included with my front mount set up so i wasnt complaining i am however looking in to buying the recirculating TiAL bov im just trying to figure out what spring i will need with it the or honestly just sticking with greddy rs im not to sure yet i dont believe that the 50mm will work with an unpainted spring and im not trying to blow up another turbo figuring it out LOL

You choose the spring based on the amount of vacuum your car pulls at idle; the unpainted spring is rated between -18 & -21in/Hg, which is honestly a little stiff even for a DSM with stock cams. With performance cams it's WAY too stiff. The white spring would probably be ideal.

voted 16g and then read postings! damn im good. then again i own one, plus most 16gs gome with the same j pipe

Actually, 16Gs come with the SMIC J-pipe which isn't the one in the picture. Also you can't really tell which turbo it is just because you own one, the 14B and 16G look pretty much the same. I do have to give you props on making yourself seem like a total tool though, I can already tell we're going to love having you around, welcome to DSMtuners.

bro im not Martini sorry thanks for the welcome i promise i wont try to be a complete tool just a little bit to make things kind of fun LOL

is there any where to get one or should i just incorporate my greddy into my system?
You can buy springs from any of our lovely Supporting Vendors (I recommend S&R Performance or Extreme PSI).

If you're not set up to vent, you should probably just build a conversion flange and run the Greddy recirculated.

Alright so I am pretty new to the dsm scene. I am thinking about buying a 91 tsi from a buddy of mine but I want to make sure everything is legit before I go through with it. What I would like to find out is what this turbo is and if it is any good. My friend said he paid $800 for it and it is brand new. I took it off of the car to take some pictures. If anyone could help me out or point me into the right direction of some information on it I would greatly appreciate it.

Since there is no marking on it i would just ask you friend what kind of turbo it is.

And put something for size refreance near it like a soda can

Thanks for the quick response. He doesn't remember what the turbo is, that's the problem.

Right after I made this thread I thought about putting something next to it. The inlet looks to me like its 2.75-3" and the outlet is 2". Does that help any?

From the looking around I have done. It appears to have a BEP turbine housing. Can anyone confirm this?

I would guess a 20g since its got a wastegate on it. Might have been a td06 20g and thats why the different housing.

Bullseye Power T04B V-Trim with a stainless BEP .55 a/r turbine housing. Roughly 18G airflow with ridiculous lag and compressor surge thanks to Bullseye using a turbine wheel that is capable nearly double the airflow of the compressor.

There are way better turbo choices for far less money out there....namely the Evo III 16G.

By the way, this thread belongs here and will most likely get merged:

There is nothing even remotely close to being Mitsubishi-related on this turbo aside from the turbine housing flange which fits our stock manifold and o2 housing.
