I can’t express how thankful I am to all of you for your love and support. For the offers of help and stuff it still hasn’t really fully sunk in but it’s starting to. I’ve got the car back home now, and looking at it gives me a greater appreciation for what I survived. Pics below.

There is a perfect circle that surrounds my head that isn’t fully caved in, but all around me is like 12”-18” caved in. The roof was touching my forearms. I thought it was me hanging but it wasn’t.

That great chop in the middle of the roof? Six inches to the left and it would’ve completely broken my cervical spine and crushed my skull. It goes down to shoulder height.

Jesus man.

But once I heal up I’ll post more and reach out about replacement shells and stuff. Thank you so much.

Injury list is:

Concussion
Bone Lesions
Chest and Abdominal Lesions
Shoulder Fracture
Tears in multiple ligaments in shoulder
Cervical Sprain/minor tears in neck fibers.

So yeah. Could’ve been much worse though. That’s crazy.
Holy Christ, dude. Again, seriously glad you're okay.

Hang in there, man. We're all cheering you on!

It’s been a lovable enjoyable ride fellas. But today a big part of me died. I’m not ready to talk about it, but car is gone.

I’m gonna go dark for awhile. This is the end of this build and I cannot express how thankful I am to everyone’s advice and help. Thank you.
Dude... I've been following for a while now and I think I've read just about all of the pages on the build thread... I hope you're okay, and I'm glad you're alive. I'm super sorry about your car. As most have already said on here, the car is replaceable, you aren't. Hang in there!

HOLY CRAP DUDE... I'm glad your'e okay but that is crazy. Went to check notifications and whatnot and came across this. Did not expect to see this at all. That looks like it was a scary ride. Seriously, glad you were able to walk away from this. prayers for you bro.

Don’t suppose anyone with a truck and trailer would be willing to tow a car from PA to me in Florida would you? I’ll pay for your expenses… uShip wants like $1300 and I just can’t afford that.

Not sure if they have time but I know a couple folks in PA with a truck and trailer. Where in PA you needing to ship from?

Bethlehem area.

Trying to sell parts off of this car is turning into a nightmare. Not directed at DSMTuners(although there's a couple here that have done the same thing), but I am getting blown up on Facebook about parts only to be immediately ghosted after I list a price. It's to the point where I'm gonna start blocking people who do this and never deal with them again.

Like, how hard is it just to make a counter offer or give a simple "oh, too much for me, thanks anyway"? Be a man and have a spine.

Blarg. I need money but man am I getting sick of dealing with modern DSM owners.

I wonder, would it be too out of line to leave a negative review on their buyer profile with "Likes to message about price but then ghosts you, do not respond to this person"?

That's Facebook Marketplace in a nutshell. They want everything you have, but for the lowest price possible. Oh and by the way, is this available? LOL

Same on craigslist. I posted up a brand new performance SBC cam, lifters, double roller timing chain and a new Edelbrock Intake manifold. Been ghosted 3 times by "I'll take it"...... :idontknow: :banghead:
My prices were cheap. People are CHEAPER. Want something for nothing.

If that's your biggest complaint about the idiots on facebook you are doing pretty well. Lol. At the point when they are just asking about a price it's not really obligatory to let you know they don't want it but you're also not obligated to sell it to the first guy who hasn't messaged back yet if someone else asks about it and comes and gets it before they message back that's their problem for being slow on responding.

Best thing you can do is to list as many prices as you can in the listing. Any listing I put on facebook I list as many details as I can so people don't have to ask questions. There are so many lonely losers just scrolling marketplace to ask questions about things they never intend to buy. If the first message i get from someone is a question other than when/where they can come and get the part there's a 95% chance they aren't interested. I don't think I've had anyone actually show up to purchase something that has asked more than a couple questions.

If you happened to message me back I never got it. If you didn't mean to message me at all, no hard feelings. I take zero offense to anything literally. I'm still going to heart and comment. ;)

My defence is I had a concussion. I don’t remember getting half of the messages in my inbox and once you check them the notification goes away.

Did you message me? I can’t remember. ROFL

Also, on a better note these are better pictures to show you how caved in this roof was.

Pigmat is there to show you how low the roof is it sits below the dashboard in the lowest spot.

Damn how close was that.

That sounds fair. I think we should all collectively start doing this and maybe it'll weed some people out of the FB groups ROFL.

Without a doubt it’s exhausting to sell anything on any platform.

But as far as the whole offer thing…
I only reach out to people who have listed prices per items.

I also have found it exhausting to do the back and forth with sellers who state “shoot me an offer” then a counter then a ………….

It goes nowhere fast and sellers always get upset; as if some unicorn 🦄 is gonna reach out and offer them more than it’s worth idk..

Not directed at you OP, just placing a light 💡 on a different perspective.

There’s a few things I did see in your classified ad that I’m looking for, but since nothing (at the time ) was itemized by price, and I saw just what looked like a whole sale price for the whole car. That Is the reason why I didn’t even want to bother you at all.

On a separate note 🗒️
Are you still maybe considering moving all this parts to the new shell 🐚 ?

Or just settled on parting it.

Gonna move parts to a new shell as soon as I can get one delivered or figure out a way to get them to me. Couple amazing people here on the site have offered me a replacement shell for free.99, to which I am eternally grateful.

But, I kinda realized just the parts being listed without a price wasn't ideal, so since then I've updated ads with prices and stuff. I've also posted separate stand-alone ads for certain items I want gone sooner with a price, and man. No one can read or they just don't want to.

I appreciate perspectives as always. Different or similar.

Yay! Turbo and ECMLink sold. Someone got a screaming deal on it, but I need money. So, that's nice.

Gonna upgrade to an FP Red on whatever new shell I get. I've decided. FP Red, and some better cams. Also might throw a set of 2G pistons into this short-block to replace the 1G units because I want that extra compression.

Either way, great news and merry christmas to me(and all of you!)

That's a gnarly crash man. Glad you are OK

In regards to the crash, I wonder how much a 6 to 8pt roll bar may have helped. I think a lot of us currently un-caged street car guys have this senario in the back of our minds. I mean thankfully, you walked away, so I wonder is a roll bar worth it on a 100% street car? I totally get a full 10pt not being ideal/safe on the street, but I for one have been going back and forth on the roll bar/no roll bar thing for awhile now:hmm:

I think a 4pt roll cage might be okay since the tubing is behind you. 6 and 8 point could potentially be dangerous without a helmet or 5pt harness to keep you pinned to the seat. With the factory seat belts, you're likely to just get rag dolled into the metal tubing.
