You could have a damaged ecu, or injector wiring that is shorted to ground somewhere, unplug that injector, turn the key on and use a volt meter across the injector plug terminals and see if it reads 12v across the pins, it shouldn't of course.
New cars suck, man. I love my edge. It’s comfortable, it rips(12’s in a heavy crossover pig suv rips idc what anyone says), but nothing replaces the DSM. It’s nice for a daily but once they’re out of warranty the dumbest f*****g things are...
I'll check on the shop. It's supposedly on 55 between Tullahoma and Manchester. Guy told me he's done a number of Subis and Hondas, so not new to the Japanese import scene as a machinist and builder. Might not be on the high performance side like...
Where in Tennessee are you? I am near Nashville and hear there's a shop near Tullahoma that has built a number of imports, and he's good. Old, but good.
There are several options you can consider:
A) replace your power antenna so it works (probably the nylon cord is broken - very common)B) buy an internal antenna. These attach to the interior (dash, windshield, rear deck) and are a decent...
Well... question for me is: do you like the GSX enough to keep it for a good, long time? If so, consider keeping the GST. It can be a source of cheap (free) parts, especially in a time when our parts are hard to come by. Use it as a cann car so...
It is also possible that your blend door isn't sealing well, allowing air to he diverted to the floor. When I took the dash off my 97 last year and pulled all the ducting apart I found that the sponge seals around the doors and ducting had...
1g/2g DSM's don't have cabin air filters. You can remove the motor/cage to see if there are obstructions in there (leaves, mice, etc) or excessive dirt on the fan blades obstructing air flow. However my blower motor never did blow very well even...
So all fuses are good (checked with a multimeter/bulb vs. eyeballs) and no visible breaks or disconnects. At this point, 'twer I you, I would begin by checking power at the source and at the points where the two fuses blew. It really sounds like...
You all can flame me, but I run my White GSX with a unrecirculated BOV and she doesn't give me any problems. Drives good, no hesitation, no gripes at all but it is on ECMLink and tuned so that may make a difference.
I just didn't want the OP to...
For your fans you can just run power through your toggle switch to a relay. Use the relay to route power to your fans. Reason for the relay is the fans will draw too much power for the toggle's wiring to handle - wire fires in the dash suck. Plus...
You say this problem occurred when your shifter broke loose. Was the single din stereo factory? If not (or maybe even if so) perhaps the stereo's wiring was routed around or through the shifter cables instead of being isolated and distant...
I would start by checking grounds. The Clifford system shouldn't of itself cause this issue, unless the PO wired it wrong. Enev then it shouldn't be intermittent... which is why I say check your grounds - specifically to the ecu. With 1/2 of the...
The problem would seem to be that you have either excessing draw on the engine with the a/c engaged (bad compressor bearings, belt is too tight, compressor having to work too hard, bad electric fans drawing more power than a weak alternator can...
100 is the low service limit for compression. Your numbers should be up above 150 (ideally 180-220). With what you are describing sounds like a head gasket. At 180k miles there could be more going on as well (rings, valve guides, etc.). A...
Just measure the resistance of the CTS in place with the car at ambient. Look at the table posted; if it's close to what it should be at that temp you are good to go. What causes serious trouble is a shorted or open sensor -- most commonly a...
Be aware that while there isn't much you can't do with the 2g platform, your goals and your wallet need to have a serious conversation. For example, the fwd manual transmission can't withstand more than about 400hp before stuff starts to break...
