Kurt / bastardssm/ White Shed Speed also. Not sure if adding that to the list. I just know he also offers rebuild services.Jacks has been a long-time supporter of our community, and has a lot of great feedback from customers. TMZ (Tim) has been a contributor here on our site for many years, and does great work. Those are always the two I recommend, but we're building a more complete list of all the builders here:DSM Transmission Builders
A comprehensive list of active transmission rebuilders that are widely known to specialize in rebuilding DSM manual and automatic transmissions and supply transmission parts.www.dsmtuners.com
It's open for all to add to, I just ask that everyone follow the same standards used for the existing listings.Kurt / bastardssm/ White Shed Speed also. Not sure if adding that to the list. I just know he also offers rebuild services.
Oh I missed that part. Neat. It's open for all to add to, I just ask that everyone follow the same standards used for the existing listings.

I am booked out 3 months+, and have been focusing on the jobs here, I am not taking in new work currently. I also am trying to spend time with several trips with my son, finally working on my own cars that have needed attention for the last year, and coaching spring soccer.Jacks transmissions
Tried to reach out to TMZ but he never responded to either of my emails I sent inquiring about it. This is who I wanted to have build it for obvious reasons but I’m not one to keep bugging someone.
I reached out to TRE and Jon did reach back out to me. However he sorta comes off as a dick and is very straight to the point. I understand how owning a business is and customers being a time wasting pain in the ass. So I could understand this especially with cheap as DSMers.
Think TRE will be rebuilding my transfer case and rear differential though because of lack of options. Just don’t want him to snap out on me for asking a question or asking for an estimated cost or turn around time.
Jacks was prompt on communication and how the process would be handled. I don’t have many miles on a stockish rebuild though. But overall I am happy with Jacks as long as she keeps shifting smoothly.

Hey Tim, would it make sense to let all prospective customers know this by posting an announcement about it on your website, so that it's common knowledge to everyone trying to reach out to you? You could update your signature with that messaging here too, if it helps. Then, just pull it down in the future when you're taking in new business. Just a thought. I can mention that in your listing in the directory too if you like.I am booked out 3 months+, and have been focusing on the jobs here, I am not taking in new work currently. I also am trying to spend time with several trips with my son, finally working on my own cars that have needed attention for the last year, and coaching spring soccer.
I am sorry that I did not respond to your email yet but I am swamped, and not currently taking in jobs. Plain and simple.
Well, I am sorry that I missed your emails, I typically keep cycling in and out around 25-30 jobs here at all times and just respond to as many people as I can. Being a 1 man show, it is sometimes a handful to keep up with everyone, and people just have to accept the scenario that I can only take in so many jobs in a year. This was atleast 1-2 years ago fwiw
Not an easy balance for any of us in that situation. I can certainly relate.I get it, I run a business myself and have a family.
I had the switchable transmission on my 1g for many years, but I have never opened to rebuild since actually it didn't get broken while I was using. I still have both switchable transmission and t-case as spare.Anyone here with experience with a Mitsubishi 2WD/AWD switchable transmission?
