What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

If its not stock then theres a small possibility that it might be a 13g from an auto 1g dsm.

Only way to finding out what it is, is post a picture.

Hey guys did some more research. i found out the only turbo ou there with the last two digits in the 49178-????? code is a small 16g off a gallant with the numbers being 49178-05200 with the compressor a tdho5. Is that right?

Very interesting. Someone has filed those numbers off on purpose for whatever reason. At this point we will need a picture of the exhaust housing to determine if its an EVO III 16g. The small and big 16g's used a slightly heavier exhaust housing than the EVO III models. If you take a pic of the housing I can tell you whether or not its an EVO III. It is definetly a 16g but without those numbers it is impossible to tell which one, sorry.

Hey man. there is a pic of the exaust side. You have to scroll to the right cause the pics are so big. sorry and thanks. i'm sure its not an evo 3 case i got it like 4 years ago.

The picture of the exhaust side is not sufficient enough to give any evidence. If you are still interested in finding out whether or not its an E316g I would need a clear picture of where the turbo bolts to the exhaust manifold. More than likely this is a small or big 16g but like I said if you still want to know post up a pic and I'll tell you.

thanks guys. the closest thing i found to a match is a 91-92 galant small 16g last numbers on that are05200.

I just bought this turbo for a really good deal and i have no clue what it is but its in good condition. Does anyone know what this is i know its a T3 and the hotside says its a .63 and theres a plate on the hotside with a serial number. It might be an ebay or a TO4E just trying to figure out what up with it.

sorry but the serial number plate is not on the hotside I just saw I wrote that it is on the intake side

Can you post up the serial #'s. The serial plate is on the back of the compressor housing.

Who knows? We can't tell jack from pictures.. You need to measure the wheels.

IMO, no.. I searched the serial number with no luck.

Yeah i figured that would happen. I just wish there was a way to find out what company it is because it doesnt say anything on it except the serial plate.

No luck searching. Call the old owner where you got it from and ask him what it is. Thats the only other way to finding out.

Its a t3, 5 bolt flange o2 housing, other than that you need to measure the wheels to be sure.

Should i just measure both wheels with a tape measure or something? what is the process of measuring a wheel

You need a micrometer, that reads to .001

You have to take it apart to measure the inducer, exducer and major.

Did you ask the dud you got it from??
