Wrong order of doing stuff... I posted this and then read back in the thread. I found the list with the 16g versions. It's hard to determine from the pic what it says. I never paid attention to it.
To me it looks like "42" making it a big16g. I'll work on the car this weekend again and I'll check this out, but I'm quite sure it's a big16g like its supposed to be.
 
i have a turbo that came with my jdm motor. i'm not really sure which one this is..... on the turbo housing, one side said TDO4HL, and across said 49189-02500, and there is an S on top of the 49, and then a some digit following the S...
 
I've been told quite a few times this is a 16g, it was on my 96 TSI AWD when I bought it and assumed it was a T25, or 14b. I've had several people interested in it and all have asked me if I am sure it is a 16g, and which one it could be. I need some more assurance.

These are the numbers on the housing. 49173-01 (47) 0 and the blades on the compressor wheel have two levels of blades unlike the 14b.

Which say's it is a 16g but is it a big, or small ?

Need the numbers after the 49178-01-

If it says: 52 its a 16g small, 42 is a 16g big, and 47 is 16g Evo3...

But your "fans" on the compressor wheel look like the 14b ones, so I dunno really.
 
sorry for the noob question but is this the stock turbo that comes with my 98 Eclipse GSX....the guy i bought it from said he had just replaced the old worn out turbo before i bought his car......
this is the T25 and not a 14b, or other right?? ...

that is some sort of 16g. Its a Mitsu turbo by the TDO5h designation. The Garrets are also downward facing, not up/forward. A 14b will have the same TDO5h, but it has one layer compressor wheel, where this one pictured has a dual layer design(one tall compressor, then one short one, repeated).

trying to id a turbo I got with the car. I have the receipt where it was rebuilt by forced performance before they changed the policy to only building thier own turbos
started as a to4e 47 trim
they rebuilt it with a garrett 60-1 stage 3 wheel, they show it as a t04s

Looks to be a standard 60 trim in a to4e housing, and from the measurements that's the closest Garrett wheel that matches up.
 
Does the t on the housing mean turbonetics? How do I tell what the a/r is. I am wanting to sale the turbo, but need to find out all the specifics I can in order to do so.

It has a 3" inlet, forgot to mention that
 
60-1 (60-trim, 7-fin) compressor wheel, T04E compressor cover. The S cover has a 4" inlet.

The a/r of the compressor and turbine housings SHOULD be cast into the housing, but Turbonetics has a way of keeping everything secret for some ridiculous reason....like their turbos are any WAYYY different than any other Garrett I've ever rebuilt [/sarcasm].
