OEM numbers say it's off of a big Ford diesel, and probably one that wasn't ever sold in the USA. It's a T04E for sure, with a 1.00 A/R turbine housing. Looks like it's time to do some measuring.

Yea, it has a huge v-band exhaust side outlet.

Hey guys, i recentally bought a 95 eclipse gst and the guy i bought it off of said its not the stock t25 turbo but i cant figure out which kind it is, i dont see any codes or anything. So if somebody could tell me which turbo this is it would help out alot LOL thanks in advance!

That looks to be some sort of PTE turbo. Remove the compressor cover outlet coupler. It should have markings from PTE if so.
 
I have acquired a new turbocharger and have it partially installed. I have been on the hunt for misc hardware, including the oil feed fitting/v band flange and clamp needed for the down-pipe, and have ran into a couple interesting questions that now have MYSELF questioning what exactly this model turbo is.

The unit was supposedly originally purchased in a kit for a Duramax. I'm told by the co-worker I purchased it from, the 2nd owner, that it is a GT3788 DBB unit. I measured 74.16mm IN and 81.28mm OUT, inner diameter measurements. It has a T3 mounting flange and a v-band outlet. The unit also has a strange compressor cover, and it came with a cast-elbow that bolts onto the compressor housing. Im going to enclose a few pictures to aid in the adventure. Can someone please help me figure out exactly what this is? What kind of oil feed fitting is needed? What about oil line restriction orifice size?

Is the GT3788 and the GT4088 considered the same unit? Also, the PT6765? Looking at inducer/exducer specs from around the net, I think my hot-side may be incredibly large...

I know this isn't the best forum, but I've been probationary for multiple years because I don't post that often. Thanks alot for any and all help.

Is there ANY serial of model information left on it at all? That would help out greatly.
 
The tag on the compressor cover reads:

Top line:(hard to read mounted on car) JM 54503
Bottom line: 766172-0001

Definitely not stock....appears to be some type of T04E Garrett copy whether it be made by PTE or China (which are basically one in the same these days).

Bottom line: 766172-0001
GT3788R; 01-04 Duramax upgrade.

You'd be wise to lose that thing to a Duramax owner in favor of something a little more user-friendly in terms of fitment on a DSM. It looks bulkier than even a HX52, yet a HX52 is a bigger turbo.

I'd say get whatever you can out of it and pick up a brand new S366 on eBay for around $600. Done deal.
