The talon is driving well. I'm really proud of it.

As you should be, stellar work. Your perseverance inspires me to stay on mine. After 15yrs out of the DSM game, I also bought another one I had to have, after a string of clueless PO's leading to more work & time than I ever anticipated. I look forward to even more progress....

It's all worth it when you feel 500awhp with the turbo whistling :)

I've been real busy making changes to the talon and getting it remote-tuned. It's currently on 34psi and out of control. Will be maxed out and done within the week.

I decided to revamp my pcv/ventilation setup. I sent off a spare valve cover to get powder-coated with dual 10an outlets to a Gamble catch can that I relocated to the passenger wheel well area. I got a 10an bung welded onto the new cool-air-intake pipe for some vacuum. I also traded my pink TIAL bov for a black one. Going for rugged black look.

I bought a dinky little coolant overflow bottle off Ebay for $16. Took it a month to get here, but I'm really happy with it. I relocated it to a perfect spot where my broken wiper-fluid reservoir used to be. I love relocating things out of sight

So she's a STREET BEAST then!!! :thumb:

What happened to Mr Kitty? :p
I have been missing him in the updates, did he quit or did you fire him???

Hey Vegas, what material is that you used for your ducting? Also I’m looking to get the same turbine blanket for the fp30 housing, can it be installed with the turbo on the car? Again I love your car, very motivational thread for sure:hellyeah:

It's called ABS. here is the video that inspired me:

The turbo blanket can be installed with the turbo on. It's very easy. Both of my turbo blankets SIGNIFICANTLY reduce under-hood temps. However, the manufacture recommends not running it on our turbos as oil can leak from the turbo and build it up in the blanket and catch on fire. I always wondered why they made that blanket for the fp30 turbos then said you shouldn't use it....

Thanks for the kind words about the car. It's coming along pretty well now :)

Thanks! I was cutting up the original ductwork plastic to make a bottom and side plate but the ABS looks really easy to work with.
Good info! :thumb:

My Subaru neighbor told me this is a problem with Subarus. On our cars, I don't know, I suppose it's a lot easier for inspection purposes to not have it wrapped. I chose to not wrap mine because my turbo housing isn't fancy stainless, it is cast iron. So not wrapping it should make it less crack prone.

Thanks:thumb: I keep a fire extinguisher behind the seat, because race car LOL

Me too LOL. It is Halotron. Clean! Halotron just evaporates, doesn't make a mess.
"Halotron is a clean agent that leaves no residue after application, and consequently inflicts little to no collateral damage on equipment in the vicinity of the fire."

I was off to my usual tuning spot when I saw some guy recording me at this random stop sign. It turned out to be my buddy Mike Valencia (GSX_TC)? from the galant forums. He took these videos:

Aww I love that first video. It reminds me of my college summer job working with a land survey crew. Only at that time, all the stuff Mike has mounted to the tripod, NONE of that stuff existed at all when I was doing it. LOL
And the way I watched it, by accident I learned another way to bookmark a YouTube video so it starts at a specified number of seconds. Which I have been doing by 2 other methods. So now there are at least 3 ways to do that. Jeez. Gotta love the YouTube video player. It is remarkably good.
