, I didn’t know at the time it was the power wire, but anyways it’s funny with these cars how often we get BIG headaches from seamingly little issues
Anytime before I start the car I check belt tension, fluids, fuel injector clips, that was another story
and on the alternator specifically I check the power wire and the tensioner bolt because that sometimes comes loose, owning a modified dsm is 50/50 excitement/anxiety
This is the worst part of this whole hobby. Knowing that the car could quit out there somewhere and you'd be waiting for a flatbed for maybe hours. It is a stress. It makes me be particular about where I will drive the car, and what time of day. Fortunately the roads and times of day are the best for fun driving anyway. I mean, I'm not going to drive it to a doctor appointment in Seattle, from Bonney Lake, anyway. Just too many un-compatible things about a drive like that.Long story short, I was stuck at a big hwy intersection with no power and nowhere to go but sit in the woods and wait on a tow. It was such a stressful experience I had to take a break from the car.
Me too, we should make a pact that if any of us here ever decide to do that we give anyone here first dibs. I already told my wife (totally serious), if something happens to me there a couple people on here I want her to reach out to to see if they want my stuff, including the 30k worth of parts I have stockpiled. Rather see it go to someone who would do it justice than sell crap off.Nice!! I was afraid this was gonna be the “i decided to part ways with the car” post.
