Street Build Resurrection of the Red 90 Talon

1990 Eagle Talon TSI trying to save her life from the previous owner and its alot of work but a nice base car. My youngest son, who also races this car has nicknamed her "The Red Baron".

I was having problems keeping the charge pipe silicone elbow on my turbo flange at 30lbs and also a high oil pressure problem (it's usually the other way around). Both are preventing any further tuning. I used hairspray and really got the t-bolt clamp tight this time but I let her sit all day yesterday to "set" as I was busy with my mom's stuff all day anyway.

While in most cases, ATM = “automatic teller machine”, in this case, ATM = “at the moment”.

I think. Unless Marty’s planning a heist this quickly out of retirement.

HANDS UP!!! 🔫 ROFL
I need to refill the ATM 🏧 ATM so I can afford💰 FUEL ⛽️ for the DSM 🚘.........:thumb:
Unfortunately, I do not own a backhoe 🚜

Around here, we know both terms.....ROFL :thumb:

Just a data log pull video to 8200. I thought it might be interesting to see how my phone would do strapped to the passenger side headrest while I was in Mexico......:rocks:

How'd you strap it to the headrest, Marty? That looks like it worked out great. Need to do the same with mine.

It was hick as hell, but I used 4 rubber bands and yes it did work out MUCH better than expected. I'm glad the video "SHORT" narrowed down the view so you couldn't see the 135mph mark :thumb:. In the raw video, you can see the dash.
When it lights, dam it pulls and does the 1g shuffle......at 70mph

Hey if it works, it ain’t stupid! Love it though. Lmao.

The FULL view before I made it a "short".

Just posting my first Draggy run, EVER, here with the car. Jancky launch, BUCKING like a bull, not near enough rpms, no 2 step and not "bang" shifting. Nearly 2.5 seconds to get 60', I NEED PRACTICE, LOL. Pushing thru a full 3" exhaust also and registering 7* knock (thank you for pulling that for me Mr Knock Sensor, you did good!).
I will try again but our weather is changing fast here so I am truly HAPPY to just have her running good! She makes me SMILE FOR MILES so I want to ENJOY her more before beating on her too much.
[email protected] it great, NO.
Did I grin, smile and was happy?
YOU DAM STRAIGHT. She gets pretty wiggly around 85mph during a pull. I need to get my Street Slicks on I guess!
Just be happy WITH ME :D

Wait 'til I turn her UP. I'm just breaking in the new motor on 30lbs.

I took the Talon on a road trip to the E85 store yesterday and put another 60 miles on the engine. It needs more running miles so I picked up my mom (83  ) and had her ride with me for fresh air and sunshine and some FUN. I filled up and she seems to get around 15mpg and when I got back, I took the car to the scales and she weighs in at 3160 with a full tank of E85. 3300 with me in it. Mom got to feel the car as I joined the freeway but the rest was just quality time with mom, who has riden in all of my "hot rods" as she knows them.
Good times, no problems! E is $2.05/gal right now. :thumb:

It's been A WHILE since I posted any updated pictures, so here she is, wearing her "summer shoes":thumb:

Thanks Nick, I think she is asking to go driving......I better take her for a "walk" ;)

I need to catch up on my tire news, so, those C71 tires are Hankook Ventus Z214 Soft C71 aren't they?
Yes they are! Treadwear rating of 40, and Jeremy, I'm pretty sure it's original paint. It has its flaws but she looks decent. I hide a hole in the rear qte panel with a pc of red tape, which helps the "Farm Truck" look. :hellyeah:

I did take the Ole gal for a "walk" to test the tires. They help but when they decide to let go, it's almost like being on ice.....it was super sketch.
I have a story from when I pulled into the local Chevy dealer but it's too long (but funny) to go into. I left on the 9200 limiter ROFL
