Have you done any OFH porting? How about oil galley polishing? I did both on mine and see about 70 psi at most. 60ish at cruising.Still 90+ so I am putting miles on her

As I "remember" (haha) you are still using the oil squirters right?I port and polish all of my block oil galleys but have not ported the OFH, and never have had too, but this may be one that I do. When the motor seems broken in (give it another couple hundred miles), I will worry about it. Simple driving now is what the engine is needing for bearing breakin. OFH porting would have to be my next thing or change springs.
I changed springs on mine but only seen about a 5psi difference between them. I ended up going with the factory one as it was the higher one, but not too high IMO.I port and polish all of my block oil galleys but have not ported the OFH, and never have had too, but this may be one that I do. What spring did you put in? And what oil filter housing do you have?I changed springs on mine but only seen about a 5psi difference between them. I ended up going with the factory one as it was the higher one, but not too high IMO.
I use a ported 6 bolt forward facing. I currently run the factory DSM spring. I tried the low pressure one, and it did lower pressure by about 5 psi, but I'm happier with the factory one. What spring did you put in? And what oil filter housing do you have?
I mean just for reference, it would be interesting to know which "low pressure" one you are talking about.I use a ported 6 bolt forward facing. I currently run the factory DSM spring. I tried the low pressure one, and it did lower pressure by about 5 psi, but I'm happier with the factory one.
I believe it's the 1.8 mitsu spring. That's the one I've got installed. It works great with 10-30-10-40 weight but this 20-50 weight is too thick and oil pressure is too high.I mean just for reference, it would be interesting to know which "low pressure" one you are talking about.
If you know the Mitsu part number for the spring, or even if you know what the free length of it is.
No big deal, it's just an interesting subject.
I actually don't have a number. I believe Rob is right though in that it's for a the 1.8L cars - maybe even the 1.6L? I can't confirm that myself though.I mean just for reference, it would be interesting to know which "low pressure" one you are talking about.

Ok. The lower pressure spring I know about is the MD015988 which people have been calling the "Mirage" spring. You can buy those straight from Mitsubishi for $5 plus shipping.I actually don't have a number. I believe Rob is right though in that it's for a the 1.8L cars - maybe even the 1.6L? I see. Oh there is the Mitsu part number there though. The MD015988 is it, in their SKU number. That's the one I ordered from a Mitsu dealer for $5. The "Mirage" spring.I just ordered one today from ExtremePSI but there is not Mitsubishi part number.

Yeah I just checked. He didn't show either of the Mighty Max (forward facing) housings. And didn't show the Mirage spring. He was showing as I remember only DSM and early Evo housings, and did a lot of measurements, didn't show that Mirage spring.
For that matter, did he show the forward facing 6-bolt housing that you are talking about? I don't remember, think I'll go look.

So fresh and so clean, clean!Cleaning up for tomorrow's car show. I am sure I will probably be the only "Import" style car, as it is dominated by American Muscle. They have seen my old 1967 RS Camaro, so tomorrow, they get to enjoy a "different" Domestic, the 1990 Talon TSI.
A few pics. She is not spotless but she is pretty clean!
I wanted to put her 2g Black Rim Slicks on, but she looks fine as is. If you see me "Blacked Out", I'm running on the Ventus Street Slicks
Enjoy!
