- No Boost Controller (AGAIN THIS IS JUST DUMB, YOU NEED A BOOST CONTROLLER TO ACTIVATE YOUR WASTEGATE SO OBVIOUSLY I HAVE ONE)

First of all, a boost controller does not "activate a wastegate" it bleeds off a certain amount of air so that your wastegate thinks you are running less boost than you are so that it does not open as soon, allowing you to boost more. Boost at a certain PSI activates a wastegate, on T25 it is 11~12 PSI give or take. In fact any pre-intercooler boost source can be used for the wastegate. I know what a boost controller looks like and no you didn't have one. In fact you tried to pull some cockamimmy story about how your boy fixed up your BCS to allow you to run some stupid boost number.

This was his argument to why I was wong about not seeing a boost controller on his car in July. (Mind you this supposed 12.955 was run in April and by his own admission he didn't even have a front mount on his car until May, you can see that in his build post. Even funnier is he put the PR kit pipes on wrong.

My guess its a 14b. I just look at my small 16g and the wastegate actulator bends differently. If I'm wrong I probably have a ebay one instead of a mhi small 16g LOL. Looks the same tho heheheh
 
I guessed 16g for a few reasons because from the pics there was no way to tel for sure.
1, Its on a 2g so its not a t 25
2, fp mani has the 7cm discharge
I personally sided with if I were to throw an fp mani on my car I would probably have a 16g also, just a guess.

That dude is a tool bag, not really worth arguing with but hell they are everywhere you should see my local forums tons of them in there

Well, that's a 2g head I believe and it looks like a 2g alternator. The exhaust housing does not look like the mhi evo3 16g housing. The housing looks like a regular 16g 7cm^2 or a 14b 6cm^2 housing. Considering the 14b is a very healthy and ver affordable upgrade to a 2g car, I'm going with a 14b. . . But a 2g manifold is considered an upgrade as well and there is an FP race manifold on there. So, logically I would suspect that if the 2g guy is upgrading manifolds then he probably wants more than a common 14b. . . But all this means is that he could have a regular 16g 7cm^2 housing on a 14b or a 16g that is likely NOT an evo3 16g (unless he swapped 16g housings for cracking; not likely). So I think the chances fair pretty well toward 14b. . .

So I say 16g :)

Before reading the threads second page i voted for 16g, in hopes of it being a 14 w/ some crazy compressor wheel inside and stuff and hoping for a badass combo to make big power of a stock looking turbo. but then i get to the second page, read the answer and was dissapointed, but the dude sounds like a tool, so I am going to say this, see if he isnt too cocky to get you the casting numbers off it? Those dont lie, then we will be able to tell that for sure, I say also post that on the abducted forum and call him out there too, so what if he thinks he is right, in the end your right! and that is all that matters!! :thumb:
 
I extended an offer to him to run my GSX with the same setup as his Spyder, he has not accepted. At the track of course.

Funny thread, way to put this ricer in his place. I hope he accepts your challenge.

After seeing this hypocrite make threads about "shit talkers" when all along he is full of it...All i can say is I hope i run into this guy at some point. I've got a black FMIC and a smooth idle...could be fun. ;)
 
Defidently a MHI wastegate. The wastegates on the ebay versions stick out of the turbine housing and the rods are usually adjustable. Ebay j pipe, I wish the picture was of better quality. Looks to be on a 7 bolt from the cooling set up. Feed from the head with a stainless line probably rules out a 14b. If I could see the top of the turbine housing better I could give a more accurate answer. So 16g
 
Impossible to tell without some fin shots but I'll guess 16G due to the FP manifold :idk: but then again there are plenty of people running AFPR's with stock injectors... Impossible to tell for sure without casting #'s or wheel pics and a caliper.
 
That guy is a complete idiot and I give that car a few months under his ownership before its in pieces again. R.I.P. Spyder.
