Probably maxed out the compressor's efficiency on the compressor testLOL
I actually happen to have my 13g from my 91talon sitting in the garage. Here's the #s
49177-01900 tdo4. Also it has 100k+ with no shaft play at all(mhi quality)
Take the compressor cover off and measure the inducer/exducer of the compressor wheel to be sure.
It may be a later year(92-94) 13g? It may be a 15g judging that it says tdo4h on the cover? This page has compressor maps for the two

15g still appears to flow less than the 14b
 
Definitely has the 5cm2 turbine housing and the TD04(H/HL) turbine. Based on the turbine housing and wheel sizes alone, this turbo would struggle to outflow a T25 even if it had a compressor wheel capable of doing so.

Sell it on eBay- you'll make some Honda guy's day. I would list it as a 13G based on what we know so far, but it's definitely not from a DSM judging by the way the coolant lines are routed and the design of the j-pipe.
 
well thanks guys 4 all the help what do you think i should sell this turbo for 100 150 200 it has no shaft play at all and is in good working order i can put that money i get to get a 16g :) i just got my new dsm about a month ago its a 1997 gst spider i had a 1995 talon 420a auto b4 getting the gst 5 speed and all i can say is it has to be the best car ive ever driven
 
I was strumming through ebay and was looking to find a Holset under the search Volvo turbo(for the semi truck) and there was a bunch of tdo4hl 15gs from the volvo. Look at those and see if the exhaust housing matches and gues thats what you got. Check the prices as well
 
i want to know what type of turbo this is and how much power it makes? let me know thanks guys.

For a second I read your topic as saying "Can anyone tell me what a turbo is?"

I was about to come in and start laughing, LOL. From what I see, it's a Garrett M24.

So far from what I see in the pic, I can say it has a TO4E Compressor housing and it can be a late 1986-1987 TE61 turbo from Nissan I believe.

The person I was refering to (I thought you were another user) was actually you all along, I thought it was someone else who posted in this thread but it was always just you all along, just me and u in this thread, LOL. You checked out the link I posted above, right? That looks like your turbo? I believe it does... :hmm:
 
It appears to be a t4 compressor housing and you said it has 4bolt outlet which is most likely a t3 turbine. Youll need to take the cover off and measure the inducer/exducer of the blades. There are a number of compressor wheel options that could be in there(50/60trim,60-1,etc)

I would have to say 16g as i deffinately know that the 14b wheel has a different looking wheel/blade style.
 
No, but some MHI center housings aren't.

Many of the center housings that were originally on diesel applications aren't water cooled because diesels don't operate as hot as a gasoline engine. The FP Red that I have uses the same center housing as this turbo, as do all of the Greddy turbos that I've seen....mostly because whoever's buying one of these custom turbos probably knows what they're doing and isn't retarded enough to shut their car down hot. Well, some of them anyway....anybody who spends $2000 for an 18G just because it has Greddy on it is retarded in my opinion.

There are alot of people who don't hook up water lines even on turbos that have the provision for them, and nothing will happen as long as you allow it to cool down properly before turning the engine off.
