I don't like the looks of that thing. Unless it has some magic compressor wheel, I've always understood the 8-blade HX40 compressors were not the one to use.

I have a new 6-blade HX40 if you're looking for one.

Your first post regarding the 50-trim....you won't know for sure unless you pull the cover and measure the wheels. The turbo you listed is not a Garrett, however....Garrett's don't have "TURBO" cast into the compressor housing. That's a trait of the Chinese knockoffs. Regardless, a 50-trim won't go far with your potential build.

I have read most all the 5476246987655 pages about the Holset turbos but I couldn't seem to find what a HX40 is related to, like what non-holset turbos would be in the same 'leauge'?

it looks like one of those cheap t3/t4 57trim turbos from ebay. from what my friend tells me the hx40 6 blades will spool quick and outflow a 35r HTA.

I have seen first hand of those cheap ebay turbo's actually puttin out. I've seen a D16 civic hatch make 507whp with one. A scion make 260whp and owned a sentra that made 363whp. They might not last long, but for $200 its fun for a bit. The scion ran strong for a year. The girl who drove it didnt have a turbo timer, that might have had something to do with it.

I have also seen first hand one blowing apart on a dyno causing the turbo fins to go through the combustion chamber scratching and wrecking the cyl walls and some even making it into the oil pan causing problems for a long time.

i think its a 15g but i dunno i got the turbo for free if it is a 15g would this turbo be worth putting on or should i sell it.

13G from a 1G auto DSM, roughly the same size as a T25.

No DSM turbo came with a 15G compressor wheel.

i did not say this was from a dsm i said this was given to me from a guy who bought it off ebay who was told that it was a t25 so is it a 16t or 13g

EDIT: . . . I don't know. There's only 1 turbo i know that has the 5cm^2 turbine housing and that's teh stock automatic 13g. There are td04hl and tdo4l 13g's found in the automatics. I sold my 13g. . . And I cant remember which it was. . . But now I say that it'sa 13g. It has an mhi turbine housing inlet.

There sa a td05hl 13g found on the volvo s70's as well. But the turbine inlet looks different than that.
