What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Its a td04hl 13g. Its a upgrade from the tdo4h 13g. That is what Mitsubishi would put on the auto 1g cars if the td04h 13g went bad. If you were to go to Mitsubishi right now with a vin for a auto 1g and tell them you need a new turbo that is what you would get.

Well I'll say I think this would be a 13G... I would clean and get the numbers a little clearer.... Some numbers are sometimes stamps in a think black ink before the double 00 and that might help you identify it a bit better. Here is a chart that shows quite a few of them and might help you find what your looking for.

TDO4H - Mitsubishi - Catalog - TurboMaster

Hope this helps...:thumb:

Sorry moderators if you read this.Just seems like threads are becoming filled with more arguments instead of people being polite and saying (I think)If they don't have hard proof.(Or it is)When they show hard proof)..If you know-show hard proof...If you don't know or cant show proof-Say i think.Be respectful and maybe we can limit the arguments and get back to the real reason we are on here and that's to help each other.

My proof is
1. I used to have a 1g auto in high school and had a dealer replace the turbo and thats what they replaced the td04h 13g with
2. I used to work at a Mitsubish dealer as a tech back in 2001-2003 and have replaced them my self.

49189-02500 = 13G.

I hate to burst anyone's bubble, but I do not know of a single 15G that was ever produced as a DSM bolt-on turbo, so the chances of this thing having a 15G compressor wheel are slim to none.

I'm not sure if it has the 5cm2 offset turbine housing that the TD04H 13G's came with or not...you wouldn't be able to tell unless the manifold was pulled. The "L" on the compressor cover may have something to do with having a 6cm2 housing instead of the 1G Auto's 5cm2 housing. From what I understand this type of turbo came from engines that were imported from other turbo 4G63 models overseas, like the Mitsubishi RVR which is very similar to the Eagle Summit / Mitsubishi Expo. There were even Mitsubishi RVR models that used a version of the Evo III 16G with a different compressor housing....namely the Mitsubishi RVR Hyper Sports Gear R.

Regardless, the turbo in question is roughly the same as a T25. Tiny.

I'm not saying your wrong bro.But that's not hard proof at all.
You saying you know just cause you worked for a dealer isn't going to change
the fact none of us see hard proof sitting on the screen or in our
hands and no hard proof of you even working for a dealer your just giving your word again ROFL.
I posted that not knowing if it was or wasn't absolutely a 3000gt turbo (as you see in my post).
It was just info i found and wanted to post and thinking it might be helpful.
I just didn't agree with you (directing your comment towards me)
(Its not a 3000gt/stealth turbo, they dont look like that.)
It was for him to read not you to read and tell me I'm wrong.
Its disrespectful and the worst part your probably twice as old as me sitting here bickering with me because you don't like that i called you out on being disrespectful when you had no right to say anything to me.If your the type of dude that wants to hear your right then ok,Your right dude. There's your ego booster for the day I'm done:thumb:

Sorry DeNoZZo i apologize.I was only trying to give you info that might help.Didn't mean to fill your thread with this.:toobad:

You have a lot to learn. But any way this thread is like :beatentodeath:

Oh and I'm not that old. I'm only 29.

I havent done the boost leak test yet, but earlier in the day before I left the parking lot I left the car in idle and it was normal.

Now to something I found to be a bit weird: Before when I used to accelerate the car
with the clutch down, If I was to accelerate to
6K it used to go in to boost.

But when I did that earlier I even let the car
rev for a sec and it went from vacc. to 0 and
it doesnt go into boost. What could that be?

and wanted to post and thinking it might be helpful.
I just didn't agree with you (directing your comment towards me)
(Its not a 3000gt/stealth turbo, they dont look like that.)

You dont have to agree with me and your post was not helpfull , the stealth 3000gt turbos do not have a have a flange like that and that is a fact, it is not a 3000gt turbo , This is an rvr turbo as a I stated earlier in this thread.:beatentodeath:

Ok so have no boost leaks. But the smoke that comes out of my exhaust smell like burnt antifreeze and today it overheated little and when I checked it, it didnt had antifreeze but is not mixing it with oil either could that be the turbo or the headgasket. Note it's not mixing oil/antifreeze the engine oil is clean. NEED HELP URGENTLY

That does not look like a 14b. The outlet points towards the passengers side headlight on a 14b. Plus it should have TDO5H stamped on the compressor housing and I'm not seeing it.

Well that looks the same as the t-25 I'm not really sure how to tell the difference. Can you make out any letters/numbers on the compressor housing?

Well I looked on my T-25 and it says A/R .48 M24 2 < WL >

I'm not sure what all that means someone else will have to step in.

Looks like a t-25 to me... Take a look here and notice the amount of material hogged out of the compressor inlet to fit the t-28 wheel. Notice how yours has a lot more material?! Means you have a smaller wheel!!
