What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

In the last picture you posted, the blades you can see is the turbine blades I was talking about. Seems like you got a good turbo, if its in good shape

It seems to be in good shape to me. There's no shaft play and the turbine spins quite smooth. Before my coolant issue came up, I got on the gas a couple times (only a couple because of bad front and rear motor mounts) and it spooled really well. During the tear down, I found out that the turbo was only held on by 1 of the 4 bolts. The other 3 were just sitting in their holes and held in place by the heat shield. Kinda scary to wonder what could have happened if I didn't do this work to the car.

Anyone know what this turbo may be? My guess it a T4 twin scroll. Thanks for the replies.

Some sort of S300 Borg. Could be any one of about 5 different units based on what the compressor spec is.

These are the numbers on the compressor of the small 16g I have. But they aren't on the list of numbers for 16g's I can find. Any ideas?

Nothing that special- just a knockoff copy of a Garrett T04E50 that is one step above an eBay China-charger. Some work, some fail. Looks like you've got a good tune going on there based on the color of the turbine wheel. :thumb:

So its a SBR G50 for sure? Yeah it seemed to work fine.. But I had other problems with intermittant po300 codes (possible GM MAF) and overheating (blown HG).. so as I have the motor torn down now, It is a good time make changes and get the car reliable as possible for a daily driver..

Hi all,
So Im needing to replace the oil seal on the hot side of my turbo, and im not sure exactly what the CHRA is. I know its a garrett turbo, and its a 360 journal thrust bearing, but im not sure of the numbers on it.

NOTE: its not a PTE turbo, it a garrett CHRA inside of PTE comp cover and turbine housing! :) kinda sleeper street turbo.. the housings are PTE 5031RE No idea what trim it is, or anything like that, so any information would be sweet!

Looks like an older P-Trim T04E54 or E57 from some piece of equipment. Large turbine, roughly 50 lb/min compressor. It will be a lag-monster, even in a DSM-flanged housing.

Some turbos in that series were surge-happy....looks like that cover has the port but the groove's not cut.

I've always been under the impression that:

11 blade = T25
10 blade = T28
09 blade = Big T28

However, I came across this turbo which I was told was a BT28. But something isn't right because it has 11 blades but a bored out compressor side measuring 47.5mm. Cross checking with a stock T25 I have sitting in the basement, the compressor opening measures 42.0mm.

Never seen one like this; I'm thinking it is just a T25 with a bored out compressor side? Basically, bored out the taper up to the point of the compressor wheel?
