What Turbo is this? [Merged] Turbo ID Identification

well they arent factory MHI turbos then.. thats probably a rare exception.. the top one your circled isnt even down firing, its like... 45* firing
diggin that center garrett though haha
Actually, they're both factory MHI turbos. Just not factory DSM turbos. The red one is from a Subie. The top one is what hahn sells in their 420 turbo kits. The compressor cover is clockable, so I'm not sure where you get "45* firing". 'Downfiring' is just a term that I use to describe a clockable compressor cover that can be aimed downward (IE: no j-pipe).

Regardless, my point was that it's entirely possible to have an MHI 16g that doesn't use a j-pipe type compressor cover.

Just sold that Garrett (40r) for $550 shipped! It could have been yours. ;) I've since replaced it with two larger Holsets.

does anyone know the brand or anything of this turbo its a td05 is it a small 16g? and mainly ive been wondering how u check the numbers to get the brand and stuff to see if its a hybrid

Well it has to be a 14b, 16b, or hybrid. It does have tdo5 on it so that usually means an MHI turbo.

But I can't see the serail numbers, and you did miss some numbers. And I cannot also see the compressor wheel.

The Turbonetics 60-1 is now deceased as well....been replaced with a HX40 on your old compound setup. ;)

So I heard. Jordan sent me some pics of the updated setup.

Now that I think about it, I don't own any of the turbos in the pic anymore. I've thinned my collection down to the 20G and two big Holsets.

Hellow fellow tuners i would like your input on this turbo i purchased. I have looked online for a turbo just like this an havent had any luck so figured i'd try here. I purchased it used from a fellow tuner as a bolt on 50 trim. i would like to know the specs about this turbo if any of you know any information about it i would appreciate it. thank you. Pics of the turbo are bellow.

That's not a T04E50-trim compressor wheel, and it appears to be a PTE ball bearing center housing although I've never seen a Garrett center housing mount using a v-band like that.

Definitely some off-the-wall creation. Can't tell you any more about it without wheel specs.

I picked this turbo up from my buddy for 50 bucks. I kno when he got the car this turbo was on it, and it was purchaced from a shop in maryland. Im just tryin to get this thing identified so i can get it rebuilt. The seals are gone and has some minimal side to side shaft play, and no in and out.

I was thinking a bullseye too my buddy told me that he thought it was a .48 or .57 trim, but i don't know. There is a B stamped into the center section, and also 1296 is stamped in the compressor housing right by the outlet. Also has an SS exhaust housing.

It's definitely a Bullseye turbo- has their own turbine housing and compressor cover.

I'm willing to bet if you remove the turbine housing you'll find an "O" trim turbine (2.922"/2.296"), and I can't remember off the top of my head what their compressor spec is on that turbo but it's close to being the same size as a Big 16G.

can anyone help me on what kind of turbo trim this is, and if I need an oil restricter? The front blade of the turbo measures 2.4inches and the hot side fan measures 2.6inches. Its a T4E-60-stage 5-.58 A/R Turbonetics
