Had big plans to work on the wifes 1g build today… wake up and see its -4 outside in tropical ohio.

Over the summer i meticulously shortblocked the engine, got the head cams pan on and sealed up. Began to route the tbelt and pulleys and then 237 other projects came up.
One day here im gonna finish the accessories and get engine to the other garage. Get ready to slip it back into the gsx for her 👍🏻
Should be a good running little toy. She wants to auto cross it.
Ill add to the build sheet sometime here. Probably been 2 years or more since ive been on tuners for anything!

The irony of it being -4 in TROPICAL, Ohio haha

I need to build one also. I'll go back and see if I can tell what you made it out of. Looks Hella easy to install the power train with ONE MAN!
It's all 1x1 tubing, some 1/8 plate in the corners mounted to some $20 Amazon casters and a little 1" flat bar that I made the mounting points out of. Side note, the rear trans side mounting point needs a spacer as it sits back from the edge of the block, I used my broken wrist pin for the spacer LOL

Thank you Jason. It's on my list now. You sure showed us all how a "Pro" does it :thumb:

Ran new, better, proper colored wires to the AEM water temp sensor then promptly hid them with 3M 33+ electrical tape. LOL

After that I temporarily hard wired the speed density stuff in to get rid of a janky plug while waiting for my ecmlink harness and rywire 1g MAF pigtail. Fixed the random stutter/stumble I was having. Turns out the random lean issue and random stuttering was due to the pos eBay harness plugs sucking/vibrating and the sensor becoming unplugged/reconnected with engine vibrations.

So. Pretty good day. Also disconnected the boost controller and I’m running it straight wastegate pressure again until the clutch is fully broken in.

Made a heater core tester out of some quick hardening epoxy and an air compressor fitting.

New core is holding 30psi and no bubbles.

So where is that coolant leaking from??? 🤦

Replacing the spark plugs on my 1g and also checking how many spare spark plugs I have. I realized that I still have some BR8ES.
Took some pic for comparing. You can see how come usually #9 is not good at long idling or on street.

Got around to finishing the brakes, front and rear. My god f*** the rear calipers though LOL Glad I got it done. ‘94 dual piston calipers and singles in the rear. Drilled and slotted rotors all around. Gotta get the transfer case rebuilt, want to throw a resonator and vibrant muffler on as well as some other things and eventually paint it

fixing the bugs of this turd
and raising boost slowly i was doing some short pulls to check parameters and i got 40lbs min from the 75 goal im planning need to put a better tach or a reliable upshifter for my trans so i dont shift early i was doing at 6k 6.3 when i shpuld do at 8500

Finally got around to doing some much needed rewiring. Cut off the old janky 2G MAF plug that would read "unplugged" in ECMLink when jiggled, with a great looking OEM 1G plug with nice soft wires. Soldered in, double walled 3:1 marine grade adhesive lined heat shrink, OEM Corrugated tubing, and 3M Super 33+ electrical tape on the ends and over the soldered section.

From there I un-fooked my gauge wiring and installed my AEM Tru-BoostX. So happy with it.

Finished it off by going back to the OEM weighted leather shift knob I have and cleaned it up/used some leather conditioner a detail friend gave me. No idea what it is, but it dried super nice. The leather boot feels soft and supple, and the shift knob is not greasy or etc. It's not wet in this picture, it's just that shiny. I could've gotten deeper/more thorough but eh, I'm happy with it.

Got most of the interior reinstalled. My carpet definitely turned dark blue after giving it a bath to get the coolant out of it. I'll pull it and give it another coat of black carpet paint in summer.

I also did some weight reduction. I think (hope?) these 2 completely different bolts are from the bracket which secures the heater core to the heater box. My heater core didn't fit into the bracket so it's not being used.
