Keep organizing the spare parts I have. Today I checked all spare OEM coil pack, PTU, ISC, TPSs and 1G IPS. All were good, except one tan color metal housing ISC. It had shorted coils.

Lower transfer gear decided to find a new home somewhere on the side of the road. Just glad the welded center diff didn't follow suit.

Pulled the accessories off the engine. Power steering pump, alternator, waterpump pullys. Took timing cover off all the timing components. Didn't look bad. Just old, and dirty. Then the turbo came off. Not bad. One broken stud. Fare bottom left. The exhaust runners looked questionable. But still not bad. Then the intake... took the fuel rail off and the bottom of the fuel injectors looked gone. Little plastic tip at the end. Only 1 looked right. And there was junk all around the o-rings. The intake was worse. For sure tearing it down to the block and heads will b done up right!

Got the nicer intercooler on along with some amber 1157 bulbs in the corner lights for a deeper color.

Also swapped in my oldschool BOV which was missing the front fin and adjustment screw/nut. Ended up putting a nylon lock nut as they tend to back out on their own and the fin from the replica BOV that was on the car.

Decided to take apart the replica and ummmmm….. I don’t know how long it was on the car but I heard it leaking under load the other day and I can definitely see why.

Finished painting the bottom of the Talon yesterday. Raptor 2k in the fender wells and "high traffic" areas, and Krylon enamel in the areas that don't see a lot of abuse.

Forgot to update this. Finally finished wiring all the AEM X series gauges. It’s nice they finally match again.

Other than that, nothing. I’m having some smoke at idle issues, please pop into my build thread and see the videos I posted and help a brotha out. (Don’t wanna clutter this thread).

Sneakers aren’t DSM parts Marty! Lol
Those "Sneakers" contain a nice Holley 850 Double Pumper Carburetor so I have adopted alot of Sneaker boxes 📦 ROFL

Was the 2K overspray excessive? I have sprayed a couple pieces of plastic on my Subi with the 2K and even outside that stuff got everywhere. I bought some regular Raptor liner for the fender wells but haven’t sprayed it yet.

Overspray wasn't bad at all that I've noticed. Since I was under the car and everything was painted black I wasn't too worried about it though. I taped off around the fenders but didn't mask the car or anything and I haven't noticed any overspray.

Been several months since I've been active or posted. Hit some mental hurdles when a few things didn't go my way so I had to walk away for a little bit.

My brother provided a little bit of motivation by buying me a race wheel for Christmas. I ordered the hub adapter and it should be in this weekend. I've got the money put off to the side for my seats. Going to order them next week. Was at the shop last night and some 2100cc injectors my buddy told he'd make me a deal on are soon to be available. He just wants to run them through the injector cleaner/tester to make sure there is no unforeseen issues.

The winter temps might keep me from getting a lot done since my garage isn't the warmest, but I'll try to continue to push forward, all the while doing adulting stuff with the necessary house projects.

When I went to the shop I took the 3000GT. I hadn't driven it, or even started it in several weeks, maybe even months. Checked things over before I made the drive, and driving it made me remember why I both love it, and and why I don't really drive it much all at the same time. It needs a little work. I just need to prioritize and figure out the best way to move forward.

Too many projects.

I got tired of all the crappy cell phone mounts never fitting our dash so went ahead and used one of the blanks to make a nice mount for a Mag-Safe holder. Had to use some scrap parts and a little creativity but it turned out good. Wish I had done it a long time ago!

Oh - that is so good. Unfortunately I still use the rear wiper switch. This is a good spot for the phone, and powering a holder so that you get cordless inductive charging is handy.

Slowly getting this car back to normal. Heavy showers over the weekend washed away all the salt away and gave me a window to get some testing done today before the temperature plunges and snow returns.

My AEM wideband now logs to ECMLink... The shop had only hooked up the wideband and sensor, but never ran the white and brown wires to the ECU.

Last issues to tackle with this car is the cruise and WOT tuning, but first, this throttle body is gonna have to come off again. Ive tried everything else I could think of to resolve the hanging/rising rpms between shift when I give it a substantial amount of throttle. Swapping out the throttle cable and adjusting it made the problem halfway better, but now that its colder, I think its sticking even more and messing with my idle when coming to a stop on some occasions.

Have you tried just spray cleaning it with TB cleaner or your choice of something to get the throttle shaft and plate (which may not be perfectly lined up) gum and varnish off? Then spray the shaft and plate with some WD40 and see what it does? IDT it would hurt a thing as a test to see if it would quit sticking besides an overhaul.
I'm an OLD school Carburetor guy using tricks on TB's if I need to.

Mental stuff is no joke, and it’s a big deal you’re able to talk freely about it. Push through one day at a time and don’t beat yourself up if you stumble and make a mistake.

Proud of you and hope things get better.

Back story(sorry, its a little long)....I had cleaned it a few month ago because I had originally thought the plate might have had something to do with my high idle on start up.(But that was ultimately fixed when I blocked off the FIAV.) Admittedly, I probably didnt do as thorough of a job as I would now that Ive been doing my own work on the car.

The throttle shaft seals were replaced by the same shop about 3 months before we had the fallout and was working fine. Problem didnt start until my second trip there and they put it on the dyno and were trying to tune it which is why i thought it was the throttle cable, since they also did the cruise control delete and told me that they were encountering this issue. (The shop replaced the clutch, cruise control delete, manifold/turbo/o2 gaskets and had started doing some tuning, but never finished.)

This is how it looks in the logs when the problem occurs.(Red=RPM, Green=Throttle Position)

The ThrotPos drops off immediately after the second gear shift, but I step on the gas a little harder and you can see there is not an immediate drop off for the 3-4 gear shift, plus there is a bump in the RPMs. I punch the clutch/step off the gas and the rpms just continue to go to the moon before eventually dropping.(I was holding the clutch in, waiting to shift.)

I was planning to take the TB off again to have a better look at it. Im actually not exactly sure what the issue is, but trying to narrow things down. I had thought that maybe my wastegate was sticking closed and continuing to build excess boost, but I took off the actuator and the arm is moving smoothly. Also thought there might be a boost control issue, since the shop was planning to control boost through DSMLink and removed my MBC, but never configured anything in the Link to control it. Not sure that it is relevant, since I havent really gotten into boost for the issue to happen.

I dont have this problem if I just cruise around and staying out of boost, it only happens when I give it a moderate amount of throttle. Before I swapped out the NCC throttle cable for a different one, I was getting the hanging RPMs by just revving to 4000 rpms while stationary and it would stick at about 2500 on the way down for a second or 2 before dropping back to idle. After swapping, it no longer happens. My thought process at the moment is that maybe its only sticking when the plate opens past a certain point, but Im not sure why that would cause an increase in RPM rather then keep it at a consistent level at whatever rpm I stepped off the gas at.

Justin has been helping me out, getting everything in Link back to stock and setting idle and global fuel/deadtime, but this issue would be quite annoying once we get to the WOT tune.

Post the log.
In another thread in the tech forums, please. Chris has pointed out a few times that this one isn't a diagnostic thread for people's issues. It's for sharing activity which is why it's in the Hangout.
