Started the process of installing over to 7% over straight cut gears in the spare transmission. Also a few pictures of the carnage. The far left gear in the last picture (lower transfer gear) is from the first time I notice a break in the gear. And replace them with a stock spare set. The other two gears are what was left after the replacement set broke 2 years later.

Brackets from a 96 Nissan altima that I'm modifying to bolt in (surprisingly easy)
NRG universal sliders and NRG RSC-200 seats to replace my worn and torn leather. Maybe one day I'll have the rest changed to black interior, but these look good, plenty of clearance and pretty comfortable as far as cheap seats go. Buddy had these in his car and I didn't hate them, and with time and effort, got passenger in today, and I have more range of motion on these then factory seats surprisingly.
Now to start fitting the driver seat...

Finally got that stupid dowel out of my crank for the auto swap, what a PITA LOL
Oh man I had three in my crank that weren't even OEM (imagine that). Used a compressed air can turned upside down to freeze them and sure enough they came out

Nice! I used PB blaster and a heat gun along with a bolt extractor to spin it, then repeated PB blaster and heat and finally yanked it out like a rotten tooth with the vice grips LOL

I tried heat but when that didn't work I just had to "cool off" hahaha. Sorry I couldn't help myself

I’ve also been soaking my future pedal assembly and roll stop brackets in a 6% vinegar solution to remove some of the rust before they go into my car:thumb:

For comparison here’s my rust free 5 speed pedal assembly, looks brand new next to the auto pedal LOL, gotta love the low to NO humidity of the Midwest LOL

Just to clarify for those who may not know, the torque plate is used during the cylinder honing process with the same “torque” applied that the cylinder head will see during long block assembly so there isn’t any additional distortion to the cylinder walls correct?

That would be correct.

So once I explained to my wife what that part was for she said well it seems to me like once you pay for one you should rent it out LOL
Funny story, I stuck it on the entertainment center for home decor, waiting for the wife to notice it :p

Took my powder coated valve cover and removed the baffles today to clean behind them. Wow. I felt like I just found razor blades in my kids candy bag on Halloween. Couldn't believe it!

Check your kids candy bags guys, and especially your valve cover after a powdercoat job 😂

Can’t keep driving without a horn. Used the Honda part it was a breeze

Heat shrunk a terminal from a spare mirror to attach it to the horn pin

Waiting for a horn in the mail but success! The clicking noise is from the fuse box that’s in the dash LOL

And got tired of my floor mat moving around so threw a screw down into the plastic on the carpet. Hardly noticeable when looking inside

Can I have whichever one you're gonna be done with soonest? :p

As to what I did today: Tried to get the AEM X Wideband to log with Link, didn't realize you had to ground the brown wire to the ECU or to the shared ground or it just outputs a steady 4.98/max volts. Ah well.
