In my Galant GSX I removed center console to pull the JNZ shifter due to play. Send Josh an email what bushing he would recommend. Will remove the base and clean then paint while shifter is out.

Well we got a bunch of rain the past couple days. Something weird happened. My hood has peeling clear coat, I'm guessing it rained so hard water ended up getting under the clear coat and made it soft i guess. It was like blisters, I could squeegee water from the bubbles. Weird af. Water logged clear coat? Anyway, have a bunch of dents from hail damage so Dent repairs and paint prep start this weekend!!! It's gonna be a timely process because I've never done it but you gotta start somewhere right? I've always loved a fresh drippy paint job so I'm gonna learn how to do it to the best of my poor person abilities 🤣🤣🤣 best youtube paint channel anyone? Paint society? Also got some cheapo outside door handles in today and still waiting on keyless entry receiver to arrive.
I'm stripping, sanding, and beginning prep work on the car to paint mine as well. 1st time attempting it so I'll be watching videos and researching techniques and products to apply the paint. I'll also be fixing door dings and surface imperfections.

Eastwood has some good DIY videos. Where I started along with reading a book or two.

Doesn’t hurt to grab a part (like a fender) from the yard to practice on too! I plan on dabbling with paint next summer.

In last month i did many things in interior, so here is the best of it :

-Floor repair under carpet, remove old asphalts and after paint i put foam sound deadeners all over the floor

-Put custom black carpet

- Made custom electricity update, like Start Button, 12v socket with USB in the glovebox, fuel pump rewired and removed all unused cables from previous owners, something about 20 meters of garbage.

- Wired Flash port, radiator fans to switch and ABS on/off

- Routed intercooler spray instead of rear wiper (so i using a stock spray button)

- Used all 8 Fuses in my custom fusebox under the radio

- Wired all 6 added gauges (Oil Press, Oil Temp, Water Temp, AFR, Turbo Press, Fuel Press)

And started to complete interior panels…

Pulled the cruise control box and throttle cable to get a better look at my heater core connections. I see no leaks but I'm sure that's where the leak was coming from (Or fiav hoses)

Pulled the heater core hoses off, and looped one to bi-pass the heater core.

Filled up the car with coolant, and installed my new coolant pressure tester. It's been sitting just over 15psi with no noticeable change in pressure for about 30min. Nothing visible leaking and I hear nothing hissing.

I will leave it overnight pressurized and check it again tomorrow.

Assembled the long block today but when i stopped Wednesday was told my valves weren't holding vac so got new valves and things snowballed and ended up up with kiggly springs and some gsc r2 cams. I should be throwing in the motor tomrrow so hopefully i can go for a cruise tomorrow night:pray: LOL.

Replaced BOTH outside door handles... f***in PITA 😡🤬😡🤬 fought me every step of the way but it's soooo much better now that it's done. Passenger side was broken, driver side worked but had to.pull handle 3-4 times for door to open, and it wouldn't "pop" open id have to actually pull it. Not any more LOL. Also swapped the keyless entry receiver but no luck as I still can't get into "program mode" to program new remote. I don't know what to check next on that. 🤷‍♂️

Took some deadtime out at idle because it needed it. Still need to mess with the overall fuel map because it's a bit out of whack since the AFPR diaphragm replacement, but I drove it to get some pizza today and she did great. It flows 24lbs/min at wastegate pressure only revving to 6500rpm.

Also tossed this on for giggles.

Messed with a little more settings in 'Link but I'm gonna leave it be for today. Think I'm gonna order an outlander big brake upgrade kit since this one is still on the stock 1GA single piston calipers.

And of course because I am a glutton for punishment, I immediately made the car undriveable for at least a week by pulling the injectors and gonna send them out to FIC for cleaning/flowing on Monday. I fully expect to get an email from them saying nothing is wrong with them. Sigh.

But, at least I'll KNOW they aren't the problem. Right now they're an unknown.

Cleaned up the timing cover and installed the timing gear cover.

More paint prep, stripping, sanding, masking, priming. Prep work is time consuming but it will make the paint job process so much easier and a better finished product. As the saying goes; Don't rush to failure.

I'm buying a 1997-99 rear bumper cover to complete the 2GA/2GB swap, so I'm not going to waste time and resources masking/prepping it.

You'll have to let us know how that "G-Plus" cam cover survives the heat. They seem to be one of the only ones left making covers (which fitment may be hit or miss? hard to say), and I'm curious if the plastic they use can withstand the heat.

I was chatting with a couple of Japanese 1G/2G Eclipse owners. It seems like they had a Eclipse meet in Kanto region (Around Tokyo) on the last weekend. And they were sharing pics and videos. I would share some in here. Maybe it's interesting to you that all of them are JDM/Japan spec Eclipse.

Man, did you sanded the surface under paint ? If not, whatever color start peeling off very quickly, even from plastic side skirt without plastic primer… and when tape something, do it with glass panels, wheels, etc… simply cover everything you dont want to be painted by mistake… im not professional, but i did many jobs and after years still holds together

When i looked for one this is all that I saw. Granted I did not take that much time looking. It fit on pretty well. Only issue was I fought with the bolt that goes through the gear cover and through the lower cover as well on the upper rear corner. And that was a problem with the lower cover and the attached nut moving when sliding the gear cover on. Took about 20 minutes to get it attached.
