Pretty sure every time I’ve ordered from Josh it’s been 12 bucks flat shipping, no matter what you order. So I always try and order enough goodies to make the shipping a good deal. ;)

I do like the $12 flat rate, but honestly there should be some leeway with stuff than can feasibly fit in a damn envelope with a stamp like was mentioned.

Or honestly, just make the price of the unit itself higher but claim free shipping. It's a gimmick but would 100% work on me. And it works on others too. Marketing is damn near a psychological science.

Edit - Maybe call them on the phone instead and see if they're more reasonable on the phone. I haven't done that in years but I know back in the day actually calling them(extremePSI, JNZTuning) would get you pretty awesome deals they couldn't/wouldn't give online.

Haven't touched my car since I pulled the motor but today I pulled my buddies temporary installed 16v battery out to return to him and my mini 12v Deka battery.

I want to get the car on some corner scales before I make a decision on where I'll permanently install the new 16v battery.

Still don’t see how Extreme does 7.50 myself flat. Seems like they would lose their ass. At least I think that’s what it’s been when I’ve ordered. Must be a weight cut off, but I’ve never encountered it. :idontknow:

That is a good point. They probably make enough profit off the smaller/cheaper stuff they send out at the heavily discounted rates high volume shippers get, that it evens out when they technically lose money on shipping.

Have you been to the post office lately?
NO! ROFL
(If you know, you know) ;)

All the time.
Would be less than 5 bucks to mail those in a bubble envelope.
If you REALLY wanted to be cheap and risk them not arriving at all you could put them in a standard envelope with a stamp or two. I wouldn't recommend this though.
God don't let me talk.........:ohdamn:
But the shipping is sometimes negotiable, you just have to ask. I have, and back then, I was accommodated. The risk would be higher, I assure you, but a bubble pack would work going 1st class, since it's under 13oz.
Some of our vendors have a shipping service that, no matter what you buy, it's still the same price. That is good for big orders.

They definitely get a better rate than individuals. I have a business account on my side of the border and it's a substantial savings even for a small business with low volume.

Put a couple spot welds on my turbo coolant pipe. Ground them down a bit since the welds were way too cold. Pipe seems to hold air with just me blowing through it, so I cleaned up the area I welded, and gave it a coating of JBWeld as a backup, then coated the entire pipe with gloss black paint. Reinstalled on car. Will put coolant in the engine and pressure test the entire system later today.

Said goodbye to a rather large chunk of change by ordering new coilovers, wheels, and tires.

Whilst I would have liked to "go big" with the suspension (BC Racing BRs, and that's not even "big"), I told my other half how much they were.. over $2000.. and the look I got after that was a setting up for future unpleasantness.
BUT It was a LOT easier to sell to her a cheaper, albeit not as adjustable, compromise.
Yonaka. If they work, they work. I just putter around town anyway. They cost a fair bit less than half as much and if they keep my fenders from contacting my tires, that's good enough for me for now.

Wheels are Fast's FC04 in titanium 17x8 ET35 which, according to them, are 17lbs a corner, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero All Seasons 235/45R17
(i dont know why it's showing only a +45 but I ordered +35)

So glad my wife doesn't tell me when I can and can't spend money. I've got friends who hand their wife their whole paycheck and they tell them when they can and can't spend their own damn money. :p

You're assuming a lot there and jumping the gun, bud. I know you're being funny but, just to clear the air, no, she does not tell me any such thing. In fact, she's supported me spending on the car because she knows how much it means to me just like the 1G did.
But she is my reality check, that's all, and we share finances. So I need to be .. mindful. Because, if I can do it, she can do it, and that could lead to a LOT of Italian glassware suddenly in our house. That's what I meant

Nah I get it, I'm the same way. Mine knows not to tell me a thing, but she's helped me a ton with not wasting money by simply asking or saying "what's it do? Like why does it need to be replaced with that part?" she's not being bitchy, she's genuinely curious and making sure I need it. Which I usually immediately realize that I don't need such a drastic part and can improve it for way more money.

Good wives are good partners and help you think about things. I've caught my fair share of slack because I've stated my wife helped me figure something out before, so I'm the last person that will throw stones as far as that goes.

Apologies for sounding like I was insinuating something at you. 100% unintentional.

Also: Italian glassware? I'm intrigued.

Usually starts with one word: Murano. Then it quickly descends into "OMG that's how much $$$?"

Murano...isn't that spanish for Pig?

There's a joke there somewhere that my uncultured ass self doesn't get. :p

Not spanish for pig... but some internet person started that rumor LOL

Is it really not?

Swear to God my first job was Grif's hamburgers in Denver, and working with nothing but Latinos they told me murano(or however it's properly spelled) meant pig.

Edit: Haha. Marano IS spanish for Pig. Comes from Spanish Jews in reference to the "no eating pork" thing from Jewish rules. I googled that ish.

MARANO is a racial slur(like calling a jew a kike) and MAYATE(spanish N word) LOL

For reference:
The Spanish word marrano can mean "pig" or "dirty person". It can also be considered offensive and pejorative, particularly to some descendants of Spanish Jews

Well. Shit. Lol.

They did teach me though about maricone(or however it's spelled). Spanish word for "gay". (being nice here with gay in quotations).

Good times. Also learned "Mas Carne, Cory!" ROFL

So many words in spanish for gay it makes you wonder..

Mexican spanish is usually joto... puerto ricans, hondurans, cubans use maricon.

I love messing with my friends that speak no spanish... I told one kid the best way to make a spanish friend is hold your hand out and ask him "QUIERRES CHINGASOS?"

What a wild, yet hilariously fun turn this thread keeps taking.

I'm not gonna make one, but there was exactly one thing I enjoyed about the DSMTalk days. We had a "random" thread where it was basically just post whatever you thought of at the moment, that was off-topic(hangout here) but didn't warrant its own thread. No politics and all the same rules, but it was great.

Love that!

Not enough ribbing... however some people are sensitive and get their feel goods hurt.... so whos next on topic?

Ill go... opened my soon to be un-obtanium carbonetics hood to show off my handy bay cleanup work

You've never sounded more Canadian. (meant with love).

Good stuff. I'm stuck on an Ambulance until Monday so no DSM updates for me sadly.

Also: so agree with the highlighted part. There's a pretty thick line between guys being guys and ribbing each other, and just downright being petty and mean. Some of my absolute favorite times at work is working with Fire Dept guys because they will give each other(and you, if they like you and ONLY if they like you) SO MUCH SHIT. I feed off of it and in a good mood for days afterwords. But yeah, can't do it any longer really.

Really wanna tell some funny fire dept related pranks and shit-talking I've seen but we'll keep it on topic. And by we, I mean me and my multiple personalities.

FYI if it matters, Murano is an island in Venice, Italy where handmade glassware is made. I'm sure Curt know that.
