i used this stuff made by testors high temperature paint, i used an air brush and air compressor painter to lay the base coat, then used air brush to paint the flames, i can do any color/combo i've had a painted one on for over a year and it's still bright and shiney paint didn't fade at all. i can also do custom designs i have over 8 years of painting experience let me know with some possible idea's anybody would want, i'd do them very cheap for fellow dsm'ers

flames and compact/coupes don't mix
Unless they're big white tribal flames going up the side of your tyte whip, right? :D
Anyway, it's not my thing either, but for something that's not going on the car, it looks good. I would've still polished the letters even though every other person's VC has them polished.

Man, I really need to change my sig. Maybe I'll start working on that tonight.

But I do gotta give you props. It looks like good work. Maybe if the letters weren't green I'd like it.

Where did you get the air brush and the compressor? I want to learn to airbrush so bad, I think I would be nasty with it.

thanks, i wasn't really trying to attract a real prize winner just make somethin different to hang up in my garage wall.

i got all of my painting shit online man searched ebay and some on google

now imagine that with a chrome J&M Fabrications heat sheild, chrome IC piping with red top greddy type-s and red silicon couplers. thats what it used to look like before swapping everything(but the vc) back to stock.

i think it looks pretty dam clean right now though, the shiny black plastic shit against the red looks very clean.

www.boneheadperformance.com did the valve cover. they charge 50 bucks to coat it in any color(high temp costs a bit more), and if you cant send them yours(as in, you need the car everyday and cant wait 2 weeks for a dam vc) they can supply you with one for a extra 50 bucks, but when you send yours in you get the 50 back(as in, a core charge, wonderful concept).

i love the work, though i already dinged it. when taking off mani-turbo studs, dont let the wrench rub against the vc, it will scrape the coat off under that much torque.

Black w/ polished letters .. intake mani soon to be the same. *heat sheild is now back to stock*

I got pissed off trying to prep mine and just painted it. :D Looks like crap, but that just adds to the rice factor....I am loving that silver vein one though, that looks sexy...

kinda hard to notice a valve cover with all that nitrous up there, shiny smim, and dnp manifold/wastegate.
