make sure...after you have your power wirerun and installed that you tkae another wire and find a good place to ground it, like a nut or bolt on your firewall. anything solid that you could mount to. you need a certain connector to mount the wire around a bolt on the firewall but they come in packs of like 5 and cost like $1.99 if even that. otherwise if you dont ground the wire to something, your friend was right, the excess power has nowhere to go and burns itself up.

yah next time i will just use a separate ground for the neons. thanks.

any one have advise about how to fix the interior lights?

I have a picture of mine, i put a 20 inch streetglow white neon stick in there, cut off the cigarette lighter figuration and hooked up to a toggle switch looks sweet at night, pic doesnt do it justice...

No, rice is used to describe something aftermarket on a car that serves no purpose other than an attempt to look or sound good.

I don't agree. You can make a car look nice without rice. Rice is making your car look like a rolling version of the Las Vegas Strip at night. Rice is having more stickers for products you most likely don't have (Manley, ARP, etc) slapped on your car than a NASCAR driver. Rice is slapping a park bench on your truck that's 12' high and claiming you have to have it because your car is soooo fast, when you don't even understand what downforce is or the principles of fluid dynamics. I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point.

Wow, that looks really nice with the white neon on Chadillac2000 I was thinking about doing that before but i didnt know how it would look, I like it alot. :thumb:

Chadillac -

Very cool! Looks very subtle and menancing - I think that your front lip also contributes to the effect. Very clean, too. :thumb:

I think that, for me at least, I'm approaching the "one neon too many" zone. I'm currently using a set of "EL-Glow" strings to highlight the area around the window/door lock controls on my 2G TSi - partially, this is functional, so that I can see them at night w/o having to fondle for them. They're wired up to the parking lamps so that they're only on when the parking lamps are engaged - the passenger's side is also on a secondary switch that I can disengage if my passenger (read: wifey) complains about the glow.

If it weren't for the fact that I already have this set of neons in-place, I'd actually very much like this particular mod. But as it stands now, I'd be approaching a dangerous zone if I went with any more, at least IMHO.

Cool stuff!

thanks guys, for the money i think this mod accented my front mount very nicely, looks very good, and so far its made it through rain, snow, and heat without anything effecting it, let me know if you guys think i should make a tech article or something, cause i dont think it looks ricey at all, always get compliments never ones about how it looks like rice, just subtle enough to make people wonder if its neon at all or just a cool lighting effect

For the last year ( have been installed for 2 years) my underbodies have flickered on and off. None are cracked and have checked for god ground contact. When i flip the switch on the flick on and then imediately off and will stay off. Any help with really be appreciated.

i have the Street glow gold series, i am not sure if they are led or not.

Their not. Their Neon. I had 2 GoldSeries before. Good lights, but Neon sucks... LED will never break. Check your connections and I think there is a fault light on your Tranformer box. The only reason they would fade in and out is power loss somewhere. You could have a dirty connection on the neons or the transformer.

i have a full set of LEDs i have never used sitting in my house, they are around 300 new, id reccomend LEDs over neons anyways, if you break it, you dont loose it, it still works.

i had the same problem back in the day - traced it to a bad relay

i say go with the led's...i agree neons suck...you can get a very good set of led ones off of ebay for about 60 dollars (thats with shipping) and they have like 8 patterns and such... :thumb:

I've got Varads, 1000 color LEDs they do all they scanning and everything and offer more colors. Havent had any problems with them yet had them almost 2 years now. Im getting ready to get a 2 million digital color set that can do alot more. You could have a blue glow with a green dot scanning through, etc.

and on my gold series from streetglow,my transformer went bad and that was causeing mine to flicker then go out.

Just got my neons in and I was able to place my 54"s on the sides but I cant not find anywhere to mount the 30" ones for the front and back. Any help please? Also it is a 99 Eclipse GS and I do live down a gravel road so I cant have them showing anywhere , I dont want to break em :)

When I had some installed on my gs, I mounted the brackets into the bottom of the "cargo" area on the trunk, and just put some rubber caps on the inside of the trunk to cover up where the screws came through the bottom. And I think I ended up mounted the front using the plastic splash gaurds under the engine, and then using a zip tie or two to pull the tube tight to the cross section. I never had a problem with anyone seeing the tubes, and I didnt have any problems damaging them either. I live on a dirt/gravel road as well. It will take alot to break one of the tubes.

Good luck.

Some one offered me to pay for and give me 30 bucks to put those on my Mx-6. I said no... :tease:

I've searched and can't find a solution to this actual problem...

I got a neon kit with a remote and a switch...

The power supply has all of the connections for the neons as well as positive/negative output

The remote receiver has what looks like a positive (red with butt connector), negative (black), and another wire (red)..

The switch has six prongs, two taken with two red wires (one has a butt connector)...

The instructions are extremely vague, and I'm sure this is as well... I understand how to hook the power to the battery and have the neons on, but how do I incorporate the switch and receiver into the scheme to turn them off and on?
