WAG (wild azzd guess)

the remote reciever (for remote control turnon???) has a 12+ and ground... then a positive output( also red) to control the lights.
recommend you email or seek clarification from the manufacturer. or ditch the remote reciever and wire them normally

Hi, I was wondering if there is any harm in putting a neon in the front of a 2gb bumper behind the intercooler/mesh.

I'm about to finish my turbo setup and I thought it would look neat to have that intercooler lit up.

There is room, I just didn't know if the possibility of it being there putting it in harm's way.

HA! That's crazy. Just try it out and do what you want to your car. That's what makes us all different. Take pics too.

On the 2gb front bumper if u look up inside the intercooler opening u will see 2 tabs. If you drill a small hole in each tap. You can put a zip tie through the tab and secure the neon to that. That is what i did it shines the entire intercooler and you cant see the neon since it is up and inside, it looks awesome. You will need to use small width zip ties.

Of the tabs? of the lights? or both??the lights are off the car because its winter, i can take a pic of the tabs later on tonight.

I think it'd all depend on the color combination of the car and the neons but I like the idea. Also let people know how clogged ## intercooler is LOL.

heres my car ayear or so ago. The light adds a nice touch I think. I dont really run it on the street because I dont know what cops will say but some time I flip the switch haha here ya go

Holy shit that's clean! More pictures please! That's a very good idea. Do you have the neon above the inercooler? It's like your displaying your front mount, again, I like it!

I used a PIAA foglight. Its 10X brighter than any neon light you will get. Its mounted above the IC pointing down at the groung angled a slight bit to give off light on the ground ahead also. I love the look it gives off plus it looksreally nice pulling into car shows and stuff like that through out the summer. I get some more pictures this spring, I had to reformat so I lost everything accept what I haev on the net.

I put my neon under the intercooler and alittle behind it and at night you can see the neon through the intercooler, except i broke a tube pulling out of my driveway! grr so now none of them work..

I have the same thing done to my car i have it zip tied up the the top intercooler piping. I have it working with my parking lights so its on whenever I have the lights on. Never have had any problems with the cops either. Bad pic but the best one I could find at work.

## best bet is to use cathodes and not neons, go to oznium.com and look at the cold cathodes, A LOT cheaper then another neon rod, and way brighter, friend of mine has this set up on his 3g :)notgood: ) but i must admit that it looks as good as million bucks!

So I have searched and have not found exactly what im looking for. I need some help in wiring my neons. I know to "splice into a power source" but what exactly does this mean? I'm still kinda confused as to how I am to go about doing this.
If it helps, the neons are actually LED strips and I will be using them with a switch. Thanks in advance

It depends on how you want to wire them up. Do you want them to come on with the interior lights? If so, then splice into a power supply that is hot when the interior lights are on. Do you want it on only when the car is on? Then tap into an ignition wire. Do you want them on all the time? Then find a constantly hot power wire.

If you want them hot all the time, you can always run a wire straight from the battery and install a switch to power them when you want them on.

i want them on (switchable) when my lights are on. I guess my question is how exactly do I go about splicing into an existing wire once I find one? thanks

if you want to hook them up to a constant witha switch, then you want to find the white wire in the ignition harness. under the dash (drivers side or in the steering column) dont use a t tap strip back the insulation and solder the wire. it will make a better connection and will be a more reliable connection. if you have any other questions feel free to pm me or e mail me at [email protected]

Splicing the wire just means combining the wires together. You can T like above, or cut the wire, expose the wires and tie them together (wire tap, solder, tape, etc.)

Soldering is your best bet, but if you don't have access to a soldering gun then you can use a cone tap. They're available at any hardware store. They look like a little cone. It screws onto the wires and combines them pretty well. Cover with electrical tape when you're done to prevent a short.

ok i know alot of you guys cringe at the thought of neons, but i personally just like the way they look, so decided to put em on my car as well. problem is i am having a really hard time finding a place to put them in the front of the car (2g with front mount). So I am asking if any of you know what the best way to go about fitting it is. Thanks

Some people try to fit it above the intercooler, and try to get it to light up the "mouth" of the bumper. Also, you could take out the metal support that is in the bottom of the bumper and mount the tube in its place. The tube would also help the bumper keep its shape at the bottom without the metal support. Hope this helps.
