On mine, I killed the lines and the 16 valve and the 2000, but left the DOHC part. Still needs a little finishing though.

I shaved alot of valvecovers already.. This is the one I did for my car. It's a pain in the ass. I did it with a circle grinding disc on my electric drill..

Here's mine. I love polished things. But I have been reading in my classic truck magazines that guys are painting their trucks a flat black. The flat black brings out the chrome in the wheels and trim. Make's it really pop out! So I thought I would try it on mine, and of course I polished my own letters.

I am gonna go with www.trgcoating.com on this one. I have seen some of his work and I was in awe. I currently have a powdercoated cover from someone else and I am just not happy at all with the color.

I am going to go with the charcole metallic gray with polished letters and clear coat. A friend of mine got this same color and it was simply badass.

I also find his customer service so far to be excellent. Everytime I have emailed him bugging him with questions, I have got a responce in less then an hour.

Look at his website, his has a lot of great colors and also states if there is a particular color you want, he will get it for you.

He is also on this board, goes by eclipsespeed002 I believe, he posted in this thread.

I just checked out TRGCoating and like their stuff. I plan to go gloss black or wrinkle black. Some very nice looking valve covers guys. :thumb:

heres mine, i have a chicago electric powdercaot gun, an old house oven, and columbi coatings powder, not interested in doing any work for anyone, but i did this myself in aobut 2 hours... i also did my brake calipers and drums check out www.cardomain.com/id/97eagletalon2nr for the brakes pics, hope you like it. Brian :talon:

Powdercoated machined letters, not shaved here. I've never been a big fan of the shaved ones, but mostly they ones I have seen have been chromed painted afterwards and it doesn't seem to look that good.

Agreed... Clean shaved looks good, but sometimes it just rubs me the wrong way and I get irritated...

I did this one at home with spray paint and a rubber polishing bit on the dremel to remove the paint once it was on there.

I don't know if I would consider mine shaved but I'm usin the valve cover off of a Hyundai elantra 2.0 liter it's got the shaved look and all it says is DOHC 2000

I prefer powder coated myself but let me warn some of oyu. If you decide to go with a 2 step powder(base, clear), the clear will not hold up to the heat over time. Mine has been done for a year and a half and the clear on the exhaust side is beginning to yellow. Here is a pic but its hard to see. Also, Ive only put about 1k miles on it without the heat sheild and it started yellowing before that. It is just something to remember so you dont get dissapointed later
