Just preordered. Was saving those funds for something else but this is more important.

Shoutout to guys like Bobby/FIBA Motorsports and this dude for actively developing stuff for these cars and not being complete holier than thou douchebags at the same time.

Got my 1-4 set ordered. I have been "babying" my car in Autocross but I want a torque monster and can't because of the transmission. This needs to happen. Imagine being able to race knowing if something in the trans lets loose you won't lose half a season or more. Thats what happened to me this past season. Trans gave out in May and it took me a month or two just to find a center diff housing. Lets get this group buy up to the numbers needed. Its now or never most likely

I really wanted to pre-order but I just can’t swing those funds immediately. I’m glad others are able to so that these can hopefully go into production. I’ll have to pay more once they do, but it will still be worth it.

I'm not sure but I think it is advisable to NOT use PayPal for this (which is an option on the Neat cart), the currency conversion PayPal is using is not in your best interest. I don't know what my credit card company will use but can't be worse than what PayPal was showing (famous last words I know).

Update.. not really sure which payment option to use, PayPals conversion rate was pretty poor, using your credit card will put the conversion through Stripe - I don't know what they use. Considering the amount of money $7760 AUD (with shipping) the conversion rate can be impactful.

Current Rate (estimate) 1 USD = 1.51 AUD
PayPal current rate: 1 USD = 1.45142 AUD (ridiculous)
Stripe rate: ????

Update: I just placed my order and it appears Stripe gives you the current rate of 1 USD = 1.51 which ends up saving a few hundred dollars. just FYI for everyone, I'll update again if I see anything change - bottomline right now is to use Stripe (not PayPal) in the Neat Gearbox Cart at checkout

I so wish I could go in on this now. Maybe next year. Need this for an option for all of us!

EDIT: Does anyone know when this pre-order is due? Didn’t see it on the website. Also curious as to what power levels these are expected to withstand. Maybe some smart people like Tim could offer an opinion.

The pre-order was due November 30th. Full payments. I loved everything about this group buy aside from the 1 weeks notice, the timing and these aren't tested yet. They'll be R&D so I wanted to wait to see how the people in the first group buy do with these gears.

I hear you. Really hope they are what we all are hoping for. Really didn’t want to have to go dog box to withstand decent power levels. We will see.

Yea. They also said the price will bounce up to like 7K usd after this group buy. So I'm unsure but atleast there's another option aside from dogbox. Hopefully withstand alot of abuse.

It seems odd that they keep putting such a short window in for these. What was the deposit window open for like 3 days? strange. I hope it works out well, and I hope you all can find a shop to assemble them for you.

I can't say that I've seen him say "Yeah send em all to me I'll do them all" This is at least a year from now maybe longer, lots of things happen in a years time.

Sure things can happen, but since tim has been the guy working with neat on this and he has spoken out on this. I know i have said this on FB when you have been commenting on there

As for my involvement in this, I had some back and forth messaging with NEAT across a number of design adjustments and factory part limitations, along with what parts have become obsolete that need replacements and design adjustments. I also offered contacts for manufacturing that I have direct access to.

I intend on doing the best I can to help the community like I have done over the past 20+ years. Yes, as a result of the total loss shop fire, I lost all of my customer's stuff along with 25 years of my life possessions/ tools/ equipment and supplies/ irreplaceable obsolete unicorn parts and inventory, and my race car, and all of Clint's customer cars and his stuff. And I'm still here. I paid back all of my customers in full with current fair market value, and did my best to make everyone happy. I feel I went above and beyond what most shops would have done in this circumstance. I am now trying to move forward and slowly do work on these things again, but it will take me some time. A lot of personal things are going on, let alone the legal stuff with the land owner that will take a while to get closure, and I still have been refused access to the shop property for the last 14+ months to look through the debris and recover any of my property. I am at a life crossroads, and it will likely be doing the business part time and a professional job full time, something which I haven't done in the last 14 years of doing the business full time only. It has been a massive change mentally that I am still struggling with, and I have needed more time than I expected to cope with these transitions. As well, I have been pretty much as up front and honest as possible with everyone in the community that has reached out for services, purchase parts, or just to see how I am doing. I am still trying to push this community forward, and together with other vendors and manufacturers. There is zero reason for animosity, nor do I hold any against any other individual or business. We need to work together to have a strong community.

With that said, I will be planning on working on the assembly of these gearsets as well as still doing PPG dogbox builds, transfer case builds, and rear diff builds, and expanding into different markets.

I appreciate everyone's effort in helping these come to fruition for NEAT gearbox, and I look forward to working with the community in the future!

Thanks,
TMZ

I can only imagine it’s a LOT to cope with and everyone should be understanding. I hope to be able to meet you one day maybe at a shootout in the future? Of course I will also be extremely appreciative if you are able and willing to put some stuff together when the time comes. Best of luck with all the hurdles. :talon:

Thats great time i know you have been through a lot it was really good seeing you in September, on the way out of the shootout. We will support you 100 percent on having the willing and desire to keep us afloat. Hang in their man as we will get through this as a community. We need to just focus on the positive and what we can do to help us along, again lets stick together. And support one another, no bashing, needed positive encouragement versus any negativity, will help us all prevail.
