God I love the sound of this BOV. Childhood favorite bov sound was always the SSQV but could never have one. 16 year old me would’ve killed for this car.

I’ve been waiting to do this for a special moment as a christening of sorts and today was the perfect day for it. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s my tea and I’m not sharing anyway so meh.

Here's my sticker 🤣🤣🤷‍♂️

I love it though. This will be the only sticker I put on the car, but that one is tempting. Don't wanna steal your look.

But, I think as a reward I'm gonna drain the water out of the cooling system and fill it with actual coolant. I'm that comfortable with it.

Also: @Anfurnyy , these resistors for the blinkers are the truth. Now that I've soldered it in, they work even better. There's no more brief hyper flash on first activation. It's all just nice and smooth. Best $8.99 spent ever.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C2QHBCC3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 In case you want to see the ones I bought. They have different colors too in case you don't want black. :p
Thanks for the update!
I'm just not a super fan of modifying the stock harness. I wish there was a plug and play option somehow. But I definitely want me some LED blinkers.

You could make them plug and play pretty easily. All they do is intercept the power and ground wires for them. Could source a 3-prong plug that plugs into the actual bulb socket and just make a little harness.

A non-OEM harness though?

The OEM harness has a small three prong plug that plugs into the socket for the front blinkers. Just need to find another male plug and a female plug that fits it.

Yeah I'll have to see if I can find one. Seems oddly specific though. In the world of connectors.. it's like a grain of sand in a haystack.

You're a dick pic away from solving the riddle.

Cracked, why are you so insistent on having the box unchecked on the mafcomp tab? It means that your MAF readings are still being used, and maybe your aggressively low airflow settings applied on top of that.

This time it actually wasn't me. ROFL I had the box checked firmly. Scott unchecked it and used MAFComp to get the AFRs where he wanted them. We got interrupted and he mentioned that it was a tool he used to make a VE map, basically. It's nowhere near complete.

Oh I think I already know…something disappeared from the classifieds

Damn you're observant. Sssssh.

If the brake fluid is right up there and the e brake handle is all the way down, that’s when you remove the cluster and pop out the bulb for the “BRAKE!” light LOL

Just wanted to say like 7 months later, I'm 150% unironically and unashamedly going to take this advice. I've checked fluid and it never moves, wiring is great, e-brake isn't constantly up...time to pull that light, boi.

Also, going back and re-reading my build thread I'd just like to apologize to @Justin DuBois , @Stapl3 , @steve , and all the others. Months ago yall were telling me just pull the damn deadtimes at idle until it evens out, and a bunch more other examples of tuning and non-tuning advice alike that I'm only just now realizing I should've done ASAP. This thread would be 15-20 pages if I'd really taken the time to listen and trust. Sorry. ROFL But I got there in the end!

Re-reading the tuning advice yall gave me now after seeing Scott do it in person makes so much more sense, and it was explained very clearly and easily by you guys. So yeah. My bad. But also thank you for trying, and for continuing to help me.

God this car has come a long way. Reminder that when I got this car the headlights not only would not turn on, they wouldn't pop up or down or even move. The auto seatbelts were non-existent, the car had an AEM EMS V1 in it with terrible hot parts and $25 ebay slimline fans that made the car overheat. It had Sparco racing seats and brackets with seatbelts that was legitimately tied to ONE BOLT in the floor. Car didn't run, had no brakes, no front axles, nothing except the speedo worked, had a giant aftermarket tach and gauges were installed by a blind man with Parkinson's and ADHD. It had terrible ICP's that had no bead anywhere and worm clamps, the windows wouldn't roll up OR down, and there were no door panels, rear hatch panel, and various other missing interior panels. Terrible eBay wrapped tubular t3 manifold with a tiny precision turbo hanging off of it with a broken knock-off wastegate. And mismatched spray-painted Evo wheels. And who can forget the parts store slave and parts store master cylinders? And more that I'm forgetting. It's like its not even the same car anymore.

Thank you for all of you who have stuck with me on this journey. It's been a rollercoaster...but fun. I look forward to another year of it. Buckle up b*tches!

Hold up how did you get the forums to be black?
We are all here to help the best we can!
On the black screen issue, on my Galaxy S23, there is Dark Mode, just FYI.

All you cool people with Androids that can do all this wonderful stuff.

I'm on an iPhone. :(

But it's still surreal to me how far this car has come, and the fact I can actually drive it to work now.

Happy to see all the hard work start to pay off!
I don't know what your goals are for the car overall but don't forget to stop and smell the roses and just enjoy it for awhile before going overboard. I'm learning my lesson pretty hard lately.

Times were simpler when it was just an FP red setup and not hitting 50psi LOL

Goals for the car are simple, to be honest. Max of whatever the FP green will reliably make on 93. A/C, power steering, stereo, etc. I'm gonna source a cruise control setup too. Basically a modern version of what a fast with class DSM would've been back in the day. So like...very high 300 AWHP, maybe 400's on kill with some VP Octanium occasionally. All the creature comforts.

I'm gonna be honest though, I may end up adding a built engine(maybe a 9:1 engine, some HKS 272 regrinds or GSC S1/S2 cams) to my eventual goals. I just don't trust this engine because of who built and assembled it. I already think it has 1G pistons in it instead of the 2G Pistons he charged the P.O. for. And I hate these BC cams.

So long...long in the future it'll probably have a built engine, but again...no world killing fire breathing bike gapping monster. I'd like to be able to put a gap on a stock hellcat or random corvette from a dig, but that's it.

Edit: Fixed what appeared to be me having a stroke for the first paragraph. JFC.

Sounds like a good goal to me, simple and doesn't need a complete overhaul to do what you want.

Exactly!

And I'll be super...super honest here. I want two DSMs. That's always been the goal. I want a 5-speed AWD and an Auto AWD. I'd really like a 2G Auto AWD, but a 1G would be great too. If/when I score an Auto...that'll be the full retard car. Still gonna have A/C in it though, even if I have to add a second battery in and fabricate an electric A/C compressor into the car like all the hot rodders are doing now. But yeah, that'll be the "fast" car. :D

But, you know what they say about the best laid plans of mice and men...

Hey @curt-s , was it you that was having hot start issues and replacing the stock fuel pressure solenoid was the fix? I think I might need to do that same thing but I can't remember who recently was advocating putting that back in.

That was me, the glory was short lived. It was a rapidly diminishing problem down to the car barely starting and running like crap for the first minute or so. I'm near positive it's because the injector(s) were not closing all the way and it became more exaggerated as time went on. I put in other 2150s from my hoard but they were gunked up and the car didn't run. I am currently in the process of DIY cleaning injectors so there's no updates yet on the car as that's been my side project.

Pressure testing the system to verify the fuel was rising 1:1 had the vacuum lines leak hella bad, and at ~40 psi they blew off the solenoid like a cartoon. I'm not against the solenoid, but the plastic nipples on the solenoid arent even barbed, it's just not designed for higher than stock boost. The connection there would need some serious work for me to try it again. Unlike other vacuum lines, if that pops off, your FPR isn't rising 1:1, and that's a game over problem.
