If someone wants to remote in on my laptop and hit some keys for me tomorrow that would be spectacular. @Stapl3 ? :p

Otherwise the plan is simulate narrowband, use the “pull deadtime and stock ve map” method, and then adjust the ve map in the upper range with more fuel.

I am also heavily considering giving it more fuel pressure to combat a possible draining of the fuel rail on first throttle input.

But if all else fails I got the maf tune ready to go. Either way I want to drive it tomorrow.

Just read the entire build thread from beginning to end today. Really have enjoyed the progress you made. Keep it up! Hope you get this SD thing figured out. I’m at a similar stage as well (not doing SD yet) tuning wise.

Thanks brotha. It’s been a rollercoaster. Lol.

Well, tomorrow is my last day to work on it. No one got back to me today on Facebook that said they would help, so not a whole lot of progress today. I admit, it makes me a little sad. I get people have a life outside of facebook, but it sucks when you get told "yeah I'll help you tomorrow" and then just get ghosted. Don't tell me a day somethings gonna happen and then flake. Just be honest and say "no idea, hit me up tomorrow and we'll see if I have time".

100% thankful for all you guys today here that helped.

But depending on how tomorrow goes, I may just throw the MAF back on the car bad or not. So I can drive the car again. It sucks just seeing it sit there and being unable to enjoy boost weather outside. Could always take it to work and swap stuff there and mess with it in the bay.

Either way. Progress has stopped for the day. Can't start the car after dark so.

Hopefully the progress continues tomorrow and I can actually drive the car on speed density. If not though, the MAF is gonna go back on and I'll just slowly tweak on it like I've been doing. I'm leaving the BOV vented though and just using idle air clamp. IDGAF. Lol.
Did you follow the injector dialing procedure from our available guide? If you havent done that start there. Im always willing to help. I use team viewer to log into your computer.

Can you link me to it? I have not but I’m willing.

Absolutely. I can do it for you but sounds like you want knowledge and I love that. I am happy to help if you have questions. This link takes you to where I saved it in my dropbox.

If mechanically set up correctly page 16 starts explaining idle tuning

Someone wanna share? I love night mode.

Also: Scott laird has been helping me by remoting into my laptop.

So far @Stapl3 called the fix. Scott had me

1) check the spark plugs. They were fouled AF. Cleaned them.
2) compression test. 125 across the board even with BC272 cams and sub 200 mile build

These next ones are the stapl3 fix.

3) He lowered deadtimes way low until the idle trims were in line

4) Enabled narrowband simulation.

This has made a huge improvement guys. It finally idles well and doesn’t die when I give it gas! Fuel trims are nice and in line too. We had to stop because he had errands to run and so did I, but I actually drove the car on SD. It’s still lean everywhere but man. Hearing the turbo spool through that thin wall aluminum is godly.

So yeah. Looks like those were the fixes. Keep removing deadtime. We figured out the narrowband sensor was fouled. After cleaning it the car runs smoother too.

Logs posted later. But yeah. Huge progress.

You can always use NEGETIVE deadtime, a thing I picked up from KJ when we Tuned.
Glad you are DRIVING THE CAR, that has to put a smile on your face! 😁

This is what i was getting at by sending you the sd tuning link. Once thats in line you can cruise for about 20 to 30minutes on varying hills and roads and run the sdtool in link to get those VE numbers close

Do that a few times and smoothe map to make sense then you can wot tune.

I have everything in darkmode! It saves battery by not lighting up everything bright white!

1) It freakin' drives, and it actually rips. It idles, it drives, it doesn't cough and sputter.

2) Log attached. You guys have to see WTF crazy stuff we had to do, to get this thing running and driving. It still needs some love(obviously) and we're still actively working on it...but the fact I can jump in it, turn the key, it idles on its own, and then I can go rip WOT is amazing. Lightyears difference between today and yesterday. Just look at this. Lol.

3) I'm sorry to inform all of you that Scott Laird received the d*ck pic of success. Everyone should've gotten one, but I'm a man of my word and he had the most progress. Sorry to the runner ups. I can give you a picture of my used undies if you would like as a consolation prize.

Hell yeah man congrats!

Scott was like "alright after the next log go all the way to redline and we'll turn it up as close to 30 as the injectors and pump will let us go then we'll start tweakin AFRs and timing".

FFS. Cloud nine. I had to tell him to slow his roll though, gotta wait 300 more miles for the clutch to be fully broken in according to Tim Z. You have no idea how hard that was to say..I'm still tempted to do it, but...gotta be patient. Tim Z knows his stuff.

But knowing that's possible...man. I cannot wait.

See?! Told you it'll get there. Glad you're making great progress 💪

It was just so hard to believe. And honestly after seeing firsthand what all Scott had to do...there was absolutely no way I was ever gonna get there on my own. At least not without a very long time of trial and error. He'd get to a point where I would previously give up thinking all was lost, and he'd just keep adjusting things. Instead of it hurting it or making it worse, it made it better. That was eye opening. I just wasn't going far enough like Stapl3 told me REPEATEDLY to do.

But yeah. Absolutely amazing. Fine tweaks, then we'll get the weird lean burble at like 1400-1800ish gone, then it'll be perfect. By then hopefully the clutch will have a solid 500 miles on it...then it's time for 30lbs. :D 😈

I gotta say those are some crazy looking global fuel and dead times but whatever works! This post has showed me there are so many ways to successfully tune ecmlink.

It looks like he's got your VE dialed in pretty damn good already too.

It looks like he lowered your voltage based injector dead time (InjBatteryAdj) values, lowered your global fuel, and global dead time, and then turned OFF "disable maf comp with SD" and changed up your MAFComp sliders from what I can tell.
Of course then VE changes too.

Yep. I think he mentioned he’s gonna get it running good and tweaked and then he’ll do a final VE map and stuff. This is 100% a work in progress and not the final product.

But, it’s serious enough I did this.

No more recirculating fitting for the bov. Stock high frequency fitting in its place. Stoked!

And seriously. With that aluminum intake pipe the turbo is so much louder and I love it. Need to take a video soon.
